Dr. Howard Michael Eisenberg, MD

Let me start before i even met with Dr. Eisenberg. When you go to the neuro floor at university of md...it feels like a morgue...already not feeling this...meet with the Dr. All i can say is wow. When he comes in i couldn't help but think how old is this man and why is he still doing surgery. No disrespect but when you are operating on someones brain you need all your senses. Will get into that detail soon. He comes in like he's a v.i.p. because he has his personal nurse and secretary. I'm here for brain surgery could care less how important you are!! So into the consultation he tells me how we are going to do things and that's that. I can tell immediately he is old and stuck in his ways. Though I'm no Dr. I should have a say in my care. So he wants to cut my whole head open because he claims that the mri wasn't clear enough to see if i had arteries surrounding this tumor. Like i said I'm not a Dr but i don't feel this is necessary.. He was also talking about shunts and more. So upon… leaving the office I'm having second thoughts. The day before my scheduled surgery I'm completely freaking out and feeling that if i go with him i will not make it through alive. So i get a second opinion with Dr. Winegart at John Hopkins and so glad that I did!!!!!! He is amazing. He looked at my unclear mri from Dr Eisenberg pov. And said it was very clear that the tumor was surrounded by a mass of arteries and made a clear plan on how to operate safely. Just the way that Dr. Eisenberg said it couldn't be done. So here i am on day 3 feeling great and getting ready to go home vs had i went with the Dr. Eisenberg i think id be in the morgue right now. Definitely get a second opion.just because they are Dr.s doesn't mean they know everything. I think Dr. Eisnberg needs to be retired. He may have been a good dr. But age changes a lot!!!

Over 25 years ago when he was a neurosurgeon at UTMB in Texas, he told me he thought I "MIGHT" have a brain tumor causing headaches at the back of my head but he couldn't know for sure unless he cut open my head and looked. I opted not to do that and he became very angry and disrespectful. I left his office, had my very long thick hair cut off and the headaches vanished. About 3 years after that my husband died. I tried to get a 20 year paid up life insurance for myself but was rejected by the insurance company based on what Eisenburg said. Here it is over 25 years later and I'm still here with no "brain tumor" problems and basically healthy at age 75.

forget focused ultrasound. they just steal your money, and torture you before tossing you away.
