Dr. Humberto Joseph Martinez Suarez, MD

I was running late to an appointment (10-15min) and called ahead to let them know. The receptionist checked with the doctor to make sure it was okay which I was told it was. When I arrived (within the specified time) the receptionist told me basically he changed his mind and that he is too busy. I understand doctors need to keep a schedule but don’t tell a patient that it’s okay if it’s not, I would have (reluctantly in fairness) accepted that I needed to reschedule if that’s what I was told when I first called. A doctor should not be unnecessarily exposing patients to a hospital setting during Covid! I will be finding another doctor. Unless you believe this doctors time is more valuable than your own, you should do the same.

Dr Humberto J Martinez Suarez is my urologist . I couldn’t be more pleased with his professionalism. If you are in need of a great urologist, you can do no better then Dr Martinez Suarez. I needed to see him quite a few times, and he always made time for me. He is well versed in the latest procedures and takes his time explaining the different options available to you . He is proactive and has a great medical team. I would highly recommend Dr Humberto J Martinez Suarez!! I’ve been able to schedule appointments with the Doctor as early as two days in advance without much difficulty. I’ve been able to come in the same day to see a Physician Assistant or a RN

Came across as very uncaring and unresponsive. I saw him 5 days ago and today just past a kidney stone tonight. He told me I had prostatitis and sent me home with antibiotics. I cannot in good faith recommend this doctor. I've suffered unecessarily for days.

After waiting nearly one month to get an appointment, I saw this doctor and he gave me five minutes of his time. The office charged me $457 for what amounted to a 5-minute chat without an exam. I then had to wait three weeks to get in for a second test. I worried during this time because he said bladder or kidney cancer was a possibility. After waiting a total of more than one hour in the waiting room and an exam room, I finally was brought to the testing room. Literally, the test took less than 60 minutes! Can't wait to see how much that bill is. Again, the doctor was harried and rushed out of the room after talking to me for less than a minute. With insurance, I spent thousands of dollars out of pocket on mediocre care, at best. Yes, I am thankful it wasn't cancer, but making me wait seven weeks...worrying that entire time. When I asked the reception desk about getting results for the first test done at the hospital, they said they normally don't give out results and I would… have to wait until my appointment - three weeks later. I said NO, and insisted they give them to me a few days later, but I had to call and leave a message. During my second test, they didn't even check my drug allergies and I had to tell them to look at my chart. And last, the doctor's assistant is absolutely dreadful - the personality and compassion of a darn rock.

Dr. Martinez-Suarez does NOT follow basic diagnostic protocol when dealing with some patients. Symptoms of BPH do NOT justify a biopsy. The protocol is to do a DRE and treat BPH symptoms with medication. A biopsy is not indicated when there are no prostate cancer symptoms. A DRE should be performed to determine the condition of the prostrate long before a biopsy. A biopsy is very invasive and has side effects that a patient with BPH symptoms should not have to endure.

Very rough physical exam. Doesn't seem to really listen to the patient. Didn't answer my wife's or my questions. A feeling of I wasn't his number one priority at the moment. Not up to speed knowledge wise. When the nightmare of an appointment was over he walked out said I don't know what's wrong with you and left with a referral to someone else. Beware, he's an amateur and doesn't seem to care. I won't see him again.

I went to the ER this month for testicular pain and was told to see him for a follow up visit in two days. On the same day of the ER visit, I called to make an appointment and was seen 5 days later despite my advisement of the ER doctor's recommendation. He did not diagnose me with anything when I saw him. He told me to wait out my pain.He was in such a rush to get me out of his office. Today, I was diagnosed by a different urologist that I have prostatitis. Don't waste your time or money on him.

Dr Martinez is an excellent Doctor.
