Dr. Imelda Tolentino Lorenzo, MD

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and patients, and look forward to working with you to care for your health.

Biography
I have always wanted to be a doctor since my early grade school years. While growing up in a small town in the Philippines, I had always admired our family doctor who also happened to be a distant relative and saw how he made a difference in other people's lives. Working with children affords more opportunities to make a difference. Kids are refreshingly honest, their faces tell a lot. One day they look ill, and the next day they're all smiles, blowing kisses and rambunctious once again. Only in pediatrics can one coax patients to sing, dance, give hugs, count, sing the alphabet and laugh with them at the same time.

About my practice
Since joining Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center in …1990, it has been very gratifying to follow and watch some of my patients grow up and more recently being given the privilege once again in helping to ensure their own children stay healthy through our collaborative effort, preventive health care, healthy nutritional choices and activities as well as anticipatory care.

How I thrive
I belong to a large family and feel fortunate that we all share a passion for travel. There have been times where 17 of us have trekked through Europe and on one occasion all 23 of us have held hands going down the slippery slopes of Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica. I also enjoy gardening, sometimes from early morning to evening--one becomes oblivious of time when digging into the dirt just like a child. I also try to find time to go walking on the beach or simply spending quiet time at home.
