Dr. Guttentag performed my total knee replacement three days after my 85th birthday, and I couldn't be happier with the result. I brag on his expertise to everyone.

Dr. Guttentag replaced both of my knees a few years ago. I was bending my knee and pretty much pain free in 2 weeks. The physical therapist took back the machine to move my knee and sent me to outside PT because I was doing so well. He’s amazing. Quality surgeon and no problems with after surgery or after several years. My husband will have both his knees replaced this year by Dr. Guttentag because no one we know has had the success with knee replacement surgery that I had with him.

He said that he actually does traditional surgery. He didn't explained anything about the procedure. He is arroggant md and I would never want to see this doctor again in my life. Poor Education.

Had both knees replaced at the same time By Dr Guttentag. I thought he did a excellent job. I still run and do about 4 or 5, 5k races a year.

Dr Guttentag performed my two partial knee replacements 8 years apart and both knees are working amazingly and pain free. I often forget they are artificial on the inside. He is a great surgeon though his bedside manner is sometimes seen as cold or harsh. He’s not there to baby his patients but to provide them with a higher quality of life. I was 40 when he performed the first replacement. I needed and got my life back.

Dr Guttentag informed me that my meniscus tear and ACL tear would need to be dealt with through physical therapy, wearing a brace and a cortisone shot was given. The staff was overall not very friendly and some made insulting and strange remarks. The brace was wrongly measured and had to be re-ordered. That took over 3 weeks and no explanation how long the brace was needed and/or what to expect for long term issues like arthritis as can be found online for this type of injury, if the injury is not treated correctly. The answer was not to worry as a new knee is an option. After a second opinion else where I learned that no brace, no physical was needed but meniscus tear needs to be addressed during simple arthroscopic surgery as untreated, this will lead to arthritis and knee replacement. Surgery takes approx 15 min. The lack of answers at Dr Guttentag office and remarks by staff that in Florida, everyone wears shorts so wearing a bigger brace is not an issue, as well as “ knee… replacement “ as answer for not doing what can be found online, is when patients should be pro-active and seek second opinions.

Very good instructions, preparation by this physicians practice prior to surgery. Office complex very clean. MD answers all questions and gives complete info. Tells PT they can call at any time with questions. Very difficult to get thru to office via phone, then u have to wait for a call back to speak with someone.

I had an ACL cadaver repair and meniscal clean out on both sides after a tennis injury. Dr Guttentag is an excellent surgeon and I would highly recommend him. He was referred to me by other doctors in the area that had multiple procedures done by him. His staff was very efficient and extremely knowledgeable.

I have been to many doctors in my lifetime but never one as rude or as arrogant as Ira J. He has no respect nor compassion at all. I tore all my ligaments and tendons in my knee except one. My knee cap was misplaced in the top part of my leg. To make a long long story short, the first appointment I had, I had an immobilizer on my leg from the hospital. He took it off and grabbed my knee cap and yanked it to try and move it, I literally saw stars and almost passed out. Then he set me up for an MRI 14 days later, and told me to keep the brace on till then. 13 days later I had blood clots go to my lungs from the leg brace being to tight on my leg. I was in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit for a week. After almost dieing I decided to go ahead and keep my appointment with him just to see what he had to say, because believe me at that point he wasn't going to touch me again. I waited an hour in the examinating room before he graced us with his arrogant presence. I asked him very… politely if he thought the blood clots were due to the leg brace. He acted like I didn't ask him anything and then he said he wouldn't do surgery on me til I lost weight. I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard. Needless to say I found another doctor that very day that didn't care if I weighed 210 lbs. I would never wish my enemies to see this so called doctor.

A few weeks ago I could barely walk because of a total knee replacement done in Michigan in 2015 completely failed. I was referred to Dr. Guttentag. After reviewing X-rays and discussion, I was scheduled for total knee revision surgery. Dr. Guttentag said to me "we are going to take good care of you". And he did! After almost four weeks after surgery I am walking normal again. Dr. Guttentag is an excellent and caring Doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable, highly skilled and a true professional. He is a top Orthopaedic Surgeon and he truly does care about his patients. Thank you Dr. Guttentag to you and your entire outstanding staff. You are the best!
