Dr. Ira Mark Hanan, MD

My gastroenterologist was treating me for IBD symptoms for quite some time. As the condition progressed, trying the new treatments without success he referred me to the University of Chicago. Fortunately for me a close friend recommended Dr. Hanan. Dr. Hanan discussed my condition thoroughly explaining pros and cons and we began treatment. I appreciate how clearly he explains his approach, directly to the point and always in a calming matter. His staff is very pleasant and responsive. Dr. Hanan responds to messaging quickly. I travel a good distance for appointments, many times difficult for me but the results have given me a better quality of life since treatment with Dr. Hanan.

Dr Hanan is a very kind doctor, he really cares about his patients and it shows. He is not very talkative so you need to be sure to ask any questions you may have. I recommend bringing a list. He spends time to go over my questions and provides very informative, clear answers. He does not make me feel rushed in the slightest. The staff is very kind and always very welcoming.
