Dr. Irina Linetskaya, MD

A goldmine of information about how my body, nervous system, and mind interact together to create illness in times is emotional imbalance. I always suspected that was the case but every doctor would give me a specific diagnosis and a slew of medications (handfuls of pills or supplements) which never solved anything. I kept getting further out of balance with myself. Dr. Irina clicked on the lightbulb for me - without a single prescription, she helped me find a way to use my OWN body to restore my own balance -through exercise, healthy food, and emotional self-expression. Turns out my body was healthy after all. Wish I hadn't spent 11 years chasing"illnesses" and "specialists" for an external answer when the answer lay inside of me all along. I now know this is what empowerment feels like. My gratitude is boundless.

being a doctor should be a calling, and it is in dr. irina litinskia's heart and soul. she is the ultimate expression of intelligence, knowledge, empathy, and compassion. as my primary caregiver, dr. irina has brought those qualities which have always been lacking in my lifetime of health care. from my experience I know she will always make a difference in the world!

Best doctor I ever had! Irina takes time to talk to you in an understanding manner, explaining your diagnosis and treatments in a detailed, fun, engaging and educational manner. I also love that she is conscious of how the mind and body works in healing and preserving overall health. Irina spoke to me like a friend, encouraged my healthy habits and always addressed all of my questions and concerns with thorough knowledge and enthusiasm. She correctly diagnosed a severe stomach issue I'd been suffering with for 7 years that numerous doctors, specialists and countless invasive medical tests couldn't identify. Wow! what a breath of fresh air! A doctor who doesn't jump straight to medication and instead spends time analyzing the full complexity of my medical situation, leaning in directions of meditation, healthy diet, and even spirituality as underpinnings for my body's decompensation. I walked away with a list of invaluable suggestions as well as a prescription which Dr. Linetskaya thought would be only temporary.

Dr. Irina blew my mind. I thought I was coming in to get my eczema cream refilled, again. I've been at this for years. I had never met Dr. Irina before - but rather than rushing me out the door with a new prescription, Dr. Irina took the time to help me see how my chronic stress is at the root of this recurrent skin problem. And it's true! She gave me the option of either treating the problem superficially as I (with the help of all my previous doctors) have always done or really get to the source of the issue and eradicate it there. In addition to my prescription, I walked away with a recommendation for meditation classes, a book on the body's response to psychological stress, and a breathing exercise to try on my subway ride home. That's called empowerment. I have never gotten that from a doctor.

Dr. Linetskaya always takes her time with me, asking lots of questions about what is wrong, and thoroughly explaining what is happening in my body. She is practical, and you can be honest with her, as she knows most people don't have perfect, healthy habits. She makes great treatment recommendations, is personable and is caring. I feel very fortunate to have found her!

Dr. Linetskaya has been my PCP at Callen Lorde for over two years. In that time, she has made a point of researching her specialties, and she always gives consideration to information I might have that may be important to her continued treatment of me. When other doctors are comfortable saying "Good enough," Irina takes the time to discuss information and make recommendations based on clinical evidence. Occasionally, having not had an appointment with me, she'll call to just check up on me, no appointment necessary. THAT is a good doctor.Needless to say, I adore her, and she exemplifies what doctors are supposed to be, not what the medical industry says they should be.
