Dr. Ivan Coronado, MD

Dr. Ivan Coronado is a very rude doctor and has no bed side manners. I had this appointment booked for 1 week and he knew my situation. Once I arrived, I was taken into a room by his medical assistant, Keisha Witter. I was informed that my husband nor my mother could come in the room with me, only to be informed that Dr. Ivan Coronado is not comfortable seeing me due to being 16 weeks pregnant and having strong cardiac symptoms. When I asked her why was this not informed to me before having to drive 1 hour for my appointment, she said "the Doctor just made his decision that he was not comfortable and none of the other Cardiology staff will see you either". I asked for other suggestions and she decided to give me other phone numbers, which I later found out, they were false or fax numbers. The staff, also decided not return my copay, despite telling me they would. This office likes to make promises and are very money hungry.

Unfortunately, I have had a most negative experience with Dr. Coronado and his practice, more to the point with his Office Manager William Lyons. A major communication breakdown took place when I called the office on a Friday to report a medical issue of extremely high blood pressure results never experienced and was inquiring as to what I should do. Due to the hour of the day it went to a central answering service, which never passed on the information and I never received a return call. I then reported the issue directly to the Doctor on Tuesday who said he would have his office manager look into the situation. An office visit was arranged for Thursday, where the Doctor seemed a bit reluctant to have a discussion on the situation. I was then passed onto the office manager William Lyons who basically brushed me off when asked as to why he or a member of his office staff did not get back to me. He was quick to blame the doctor and then the office manager William Lyons rudely ended… our brief conversation by announcing that he had to go to a meeting! I believe any physician is only as good as the operations staff in his office, as they are an important extension of their practice. Without the follow through from those hired to support the Doctor and aid in the medical process with the patient, it only severely diminishes the Doctors ability to help a patient. In short a Doctor can be an accomplished individual, but its all for nothing when he does not have the full support from his office's support system. Fortunately I was able to manage the situation, but this Doctor should take a serious accounting of the particulars outlined with his non engaged office manager before someone suffers from his non caring attitude and lack of follow through.
