Dr. Ivan Yih-Wen Yee, DO

Condescending, arrogant and unfeeling. After a visit to the ER for cardiac issues, I was told by I needed to ask for a referral to cardiology. When I asked Dr. Yee for that referral he got very heated and said how he hates it when other doctors say he has to write a referral, and if I ask for a referral, it meant I didn’t trust him. He then proceeded to write a prescription. When I finally got to see a cardiologist he said the medication was completely inappropriate. This was hands-down the worst doctor’s experience I’ve ever had in my life. I was extremely upset after the appointment since it really hurts me to be berated and to have a doctor have such anger in his tone that’s directed at me. It definitely feels as though he believes he is the authority on everything, and he will not accept a reasonable request without getting upset as though you’re questioning his great knowledge.

I literally left my appointment in tears. I can’t begin to explain how awful of a provider he is. He was dismissive, and I called him out on it. We had an argument in his office. I was so insulted and infuriated by his disrespect and disregard. I have no clue how Kaiser ever hired him to begin with.

This man is the rudest arrogant man I have ever met! He has his on agenda and does not listen to his patients. I agree with all the negative reviews he wants to give you a pill and everyone seems to gets the mental health diagnosis. I have been with Kaiser for 2 1/2 years and this is the first bad Doctor I have encountered! With so many reviews saying the exact same thing I cannot believe that Kaiser keeps him on staff he is a liability. I am following through with an attorney because this man is out of control. He even criticized another Kaiser Doctor! Young and arrogant with zero bedside manner for that matter he has no manners! Seems to feel entitled! I am a personal assistant in the private sector to a retired physician and he is appalled by the treatment I received! We will get resolution legally!

"I came to Dr. Yee complaining about several ailments. Before ordering any tests, he invalidated my pain by saying in a very condescending tone that when patients complain the way I am complaining it is because of some kind of underlying mental health issue. The way I was examined by Dr. Yee felt oppressive and purposely intimidating. There was no empathy nor respect even, and I felt very uncomfortable for the first time in my life. I couldn't believe that he was invalidating and dismissing my pain as a "mental health issue" without even ordering basic tests. I had to insist that my pain was not psychosomatic for him to then order blood tests and x-rays. I am very bothered that the notes he left on my file make reference to my "significant medical history", when I truly have a very limited medical history, and he writes in his diagnostics "negative medical history", when I have been a mostly healthy individual for the whole of my 43 years. I will petition Kaiser to remove his medical… opinion from my record so other doctors will not base their opinions on his. After considering what to do about this terrible experience, I wrote a grievance to Kaiser Permanente, and while I wait for a response, I decided to write a review for other patients to know about my experience. I wasn't surprised to read so many other patients complain about him, since I too found him condescending and arrogant. "

He is rude, refused to answer clarifying questions asked by patient. He was condescending and arrogant. You're better off seeing another doctor, definitely NOT him

Dr Yee was curt when I met him for the first time, seemed to have no time to discuss my condition, informed me that he was often at the hospital as if to warn me that he really didn't have time for regular patients. My disabled placard was up for renewal and I wrote and asked for the form to renew it. I told him I was going to be using my wheelchair extensively and needed the placard. It took six weeks to get a note from the nurse to pick it up, and it had an error that he had scratched out and changed. Therefore, the DMV would not accept it. On top of that, he put down it was just for a hammer toe so gave me less than a 3 month certificate! (and the podiatrist has already said it would be risky to operate on my foot, so the hammer toe and pain will just get worse, not better!) I wrote back and asked for a permanent placard, stating that my major problem was lifelong scoliosis that was now causing almost constant leg pain, numbness, etc and he said that didn't warrant any placard at… all, and didn't even give me a correct 3 months application! In the meantime, my work can require a lot of walking, so I need the wheelchair, and without the parking placard, it is often difficult or impossible to use. Unless you are desperate for a doctor and can't find anyone else taking patients, stay away from him. He is cold, uncaring, and has no time for actual human beings.

My last visit was the second time I met my primary care physician. Both visits felt rushed. This last one, he was already halfway out the door even before our conversation was over. His bedside manner is lacking and abrasive. I felt that his attention was more into writing his notes on the computer as quick as possible instead of stopping and listening to what I had to say. I thought he was rather dismissive especially when I asked for a little bit more clarification and explanation. He needs to be reminded that his patients are not doctors, so answers to questions that might be elementary to him are most likely foreign to his patients. This last visit has me contemplating switching to a different doctor.
