Dr. Jack H Powell III, MD

I want to say Dr. Powell and his staff are caring and professional staff. Not one time I have gone there and anyone has an attitude. They are helpful and you get seen in a timely manner. I will refer to Dr. Powell and his staff at any given time.

We have gone to Dr. Powell recently, and several times in the past as well, and have always been impressed with his knowledge and professional manner. He's the best!

I have been a patient of Dr. Powell's for years. I went to him recently to have my luxated thumbs surgically corrected. We opted to do the right hand first since it was the worst. The surgery went OK but the pain afterwards was monumental. I toughed through that but was alarmed to see how sloppy the 4" incision on my right wrist was closed. It looked like a monkey did it. More to the point, it didn't heal well and 10 weeks out, I have a huge and very painful keloid scar that needs to be removed. When I showed it to Dr. Powell, he breezed over it, told me to put Vitamin E on it and maybe in a couple of years, it would fade. Never mind how bad it looks, it is painful to the touch and the area around it is all stretched and tender. I surely am not going to wait two years to see IF the scar fades! Now I have to go to a dermatologist to get the keloid removed since Dr. Powell refuses to do it. He claims it might come back but I know this is just sloppy surgical technique. I have… had plastic surgery before and NEVER had a keloid. My skin is not friable and I heal quickly ordinarily. I am in excellent health. I am hurt and disappointed in Dr. Powell's attitude and I certainly will not allow him to to the other hand with the time comes. I expect compassion and professionalism and didn't get it here.

Dr. Powell is extremely talented, but also manifests astute judgenent in selecting his colleagues!

Dr. Powell has always been up front with me, told me I would know when it was time to have the total knee replacement he advised having done long before I finally agreed.

Excellent experience from check-in to check out. Everyone there could not have been more helpful.

Great care and nurses

This doctor is clearly motivated by money rather than providing the best healthcare options for his patients! I expect a board certified physician to follow standard medical practice protocols and to adhere to medical board treatment recommendations; rather than take a less invasive non-surgical approach in treating my minor injury, this doctor elected to do surgery first. Perhaps if he spent more than 5 minutes examining me he could have answered my question and concerns about his choice of treatment?

For 12 yrs, always courteous, professional, caring. Can't believe other patient saw same Dr.

Dr. Powell treated me as though I was on an assembly line. I spoke to him briefly at each visit and had to practically detain him to answer questions. His response to my questions was "I have been doing this for 27 years". I told him I've only been doing this for 10 minutes. He agreed to answer my questions but was obviously in a hurry. I did not speak to him prior to surgery nor afterward. The clinic forgot to send post surgery instructions and called us on the way home to ask us to turn around (we were too far away at this point.) The overall experience was poor. Part of the "healing" process is having a doctor that at least appears to care. Shame on Dr. Powell.
