Dr. Jack Joseph Wazen, MD

Wazen performed surgery for what appeared to be spinal fluid leakage in my ear. Purp I se was to drain and repair tear in brain lining. Result of surgery was he found no tear. He cut through nerves and cleaned me out. Result was my hearing loss got worse and my sense of taste has been metallic ever since. I made a followup appointment several months later and was told he suddenly retired. Took months to get appt with a recommended ent at same practice who found it difficult to understand Wazens notes. He ordered a ct scan and mri. Results were that wazen did not see that there is a significant tear in lining of the brain. That puts me in danger of meningitis. He teamed up with a neuro surgeon and they operate on me next week. I understand wazen is now at another practice.

This is the third visit to Dr. Wazen and although he is extremely intelligent, he has no personal skills. He can look you straight in the face and tell you your deaf without the slightest bit on sensitivity. His male nurse is not friendly and they are too busy to fit in all the tests that need to be ordered in a timely fashion. I’ll be looking elsewhere for medical advise.

Dr Wazen is very friendly and answered my questions and seemed to be very caring about my ear issues I highly recommend him

I was a patient of Dr. Wazen when he was at NY Presby in NY. There isn't a finer otolaryngology doctor around. I was disappointed when he left NY for Florida. Very bad performance. He applied excessive pressure at tmj area displacing the disc when he performed a procedure which was not his field of expertise nor has a license on that. Be careful and always ask to whatever doctor specialty he may be "what are you going to do", "what are you trying to do" " what did you get by doing what you did" what is the name of such procedure", and request your copy/record of the visit if possible same day!! mostly because many use a laptop in the same office, there is no reason to give a copy the same day of consultation!! it is well known (you can check .gov website) that doctors jump to delete patient records whenever a complaint arises and they will delete whatever could harm them if they have to go to court. Still looking for another similar opinion I saw in the internet but it looks that they may have the power to even erase our only via left to vent our disputes. Thanks God we have our Free Speech still handy!! Good Luck to all of you!!

Dr. Wazen was very knowledgeable, patient, understanding and caring. I can't tell you how long he sat in his office with me while I cried. He took his time to explain my condition, and answered all my questions. I never once felt rushed or like he didn't care. He is an amazing man! I can't believe the bad reviews I have read on here. I am shocked. I strongly recommend him if you are having issues with vertigo. I feel very fortunate to have been able to make the trip to Florida to see him.

Excellent care by staff and doctor. I came to Dr. Wazen with a diagnosis of a CFS leak- I was very upset and anxious regarding this diagnosis. After being seen by Dr. Wazen I felt secure and confident I was going to be fine. He spent as much time with me as I needed answered all my questions , he was friendly and caring and very knowledgeable. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr.Wazen and the team at the Silverstein Instatute
