Dr. Jacob Henry Heyman, MD

His unnecessary TURP surgery in 2011 without informed consent caused me chronic urinary and fertility problems. The case was settled after deposition.

My worst nightmare, having to look for another Urologist. I called for a medication refill. The next day went to pick up the prescription and the pharmacist told me that the physician did not call for the refill. After a couple of days I called his office and there was a recorded message saying that after 40+ years Dr. Heyman retired. I would have liked to get a referral to one of his colleagues. I just hope Dr. Heyman is fine.

I found Heyman to be very uncaring. He talks to patients in a nice if not an intrusive way, doesn’t care about the patient. He sent me to the hospital for a procedure but never followed up. For a certain reason the procedure could not be done. He didn’t bother to ask me exactly what happened & in fact never called me at all. This was very disturbing. I discussed the situation with my wife & she said he’s a bad doctor & I should leave him, which I did. Do not bother going to this guy.

My husband was a patient of Dr. Jacob Heyman. When he was discussing treatment plans with this doctor, Heyman accused my husband of not knowing what he was talking about in an unusually nasty way. My husband has always gotten along well with this doctor but Heyman showed his true colors. This upset my husband very much and he has decided to find treatment elsewhere.

Dr Heyman made me try three different treatments over a 6 week period. My problem was just a mild infection that could and should have been treated w antibiotics, but the doctors just recommending over the counter creams that didn't even address my conditions (eg anti itch Cream when it didn't itch)

I am a huge fan of Dr Heyman. Unlike many doctors these days who rush through appointments, Dr Heyman is of the old school. He takes you to his office for a chat BEFORE taking you to an exam room. He is the only doctor I know of who still does this, and it makes a huge difference in my comfort level and in how I feel taken care of. Dr Heyman really cares about his patients, and it shows. It's also quite evident that his staff adore him as well. Let's face it, urological visits are not the easiest, but Dr Heyman puts you at ease, and his personal demeanor has a calming effect. I recommend him highly.
