Dr. Jacques A Herzog, MD

Dr. Herzog had nothing to say, besides the truth. And he was amazing to go through this with. I was very comfortable and I was giving a run down. It was my mistake reading about the procedure. He’s an amazing surgeon. He will be the only doctor that will look into my ears, for as long as he’s in business.

Very long wait only to spend 3-4 minutes in the room. Rude, arrogant, dismissive, condescending... He may be a great surgeon but there are plenty of great ones in the St. Louis area who actually treat their patients with respect. Never ever recommending him to anyone.

Dr. Herzog has performed two surgeries for me. Without his skill, I would not be able to hear. I am incredibly grateful.

One thing I don't get is why Vitals or Healthgrades base reviews on the stupidest most non-important factors of choosing doctors. How about a question like, is he any flipping good at treatment is he /she well equipt to perform intricate surgeries, has he/ she screwed anything up on you? Those are good thing to rate a doctor on, seriously who cares if he can be an a-hole, if he can fix me he can be as big of a jerk as he wants. Ok about Herzog, he is a good guy, he is actually a soft hearted type of guy but works hard to portray this tough and aloof exterior, he's busy people!! He is very good so that's why I wait an hour in the waiting room then another 30 min in the exam room to see him. He has done a cholestatoma in my left ear and about to take care of one in the right. I have Ehlers Danlos and do not heal or operate well, telling you Dr Herzog can be trusted, he is very skillfull, restored hearing in my left after surgery and I trust him completely. Don't let him put you off,… he is easy to get to smile and if you care more about a doc being all touchy feely with you than how he performs as a surgeon that can make or break your hearing then you need to see a shrink first anyway and get over the fact mom and dad didn't give you enough hugs and kisses... Geez people!! Btw.. The way his receptionist talks might seem annoying and fake, but she is totally awesome!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Herzog & his staff!!

After reading the other reviews of Dr Herzog I almost cancelled my appointment. I went and found none of the issues the others mentioned. We were taken to the examining room quickly after arriving and filling out the needed forms. Dr. Herzog was friendly, cordial and professional. As with many other doctors he inputs notes into a laptop during his interview which I feel lends itself to feeling a little detached but that is the way it goes these days.
