Dr. Jae Yun Lim, MD

THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING TO THIS OFFICE! I saw Dr. Lim in Feb. 2025. Although he is knowledgeable, his staff is horrendous! Robin, handles scheduling surgeries and Kayla handles appointments. I was told by Robin that the office would be ending their relationship with Cigna in May, but I was not given a date. Dr. Lim had recommended surgery, but was booked through July according to Robin. She stated that "we" would have to complete a continuation of care to have the Cigna continue to cover my services. I left the office to think about whether I wanted to have the surgery and a few days later Robin emailed me with a order for further testing. I could not get an appointment for this testing until May! I sent her an email asking if the office had recommendations of a place that I could go for the testing since my appointment was in May and her reply was that the doctor was busy and that I could go somewhere else to be seen (rude). Robin made no mention of the continuation of care… form. Towards the end of May when my tests results were in Kayla called for an appointment and stated that I had to pay out of pocket since I was now out of network; I couldn't do that. I told her that I was unaware that Cigna was canceled already as it was not the end of the month (I was never told a cancellation date). She stated to me that I did not complete the continuation of care form. I told her that I was never told to do it at a specific time, how to do it, or that it was something I needed to do solo since she said "we," I didn't even know where to start. I was told "we would have to do a continuation of care form" by Robin! I am not in the insurance billing field and looked to Robin to inform and guide me through the process, not blindside me with a lack of information. I contacted Cigna and was provided a form, however there was a section that the office needed to complete that asked for medical codes, physicians license, surgical facility, surgical procedure, etc. I asked Kayla to complete the physicians section, so the from could be submitted to Cigna; she told me to email it to her. I emailed the form and there was no response for two weeks. I called the office and was told by Kayla that Dr. Lim told her to not provide the information. What was ironic is that she held my form for two weeks with no communication until I called! Why would Dr. Lim tell her such a thing? I asked her how would I get the information. She stated that she would email me my office notes and to make up what I didn't know; this was completely ridiculous and unprofessional behavior. This office new that I only had 30 days to submit this form from the time of the cancellation of their policy with Cigna on May 17 and they did everything to prevent me from being granted a continuation of coverage. The EMG Test Results went to Dr. Lim and I have never had them reviewed; I offered to pay out of network for a visit to have an appointment and Kayla Torres first stated I could schedule the appointment and then denied the appointment by stating that Robin needed to discuss the billing with me and that she would call me right back. Ironically Robin stated in a subsequent email that she was out of the building that entire day. When I spoke up about this treatment and especially Kayla's behavior she stated that Dr. Lim had suggested that if I did not like the service he could refer me to someone else; however I am unsure if he knows how she treats his patients. She told me that she runs the office and if she is not liked then that matters as well. What I got from her sarcastic behavior is that she can run Dr. Lim's business into the ground and he would not care since he is not checking behind her! Patients come there to see Dr. Lim, not to be abused by Kayla or Robin. Talking down to patients, refusing them service or access to results due to your mistakes is negligent and unprofessional. THINK TWICE BEFOR GOING TO THIS OFFICE!

Due to the complexity of my case the receptionist refused to schedule a consultation appointment after being referred by another doctor. She was practicing medicine without a license on his behalf, even after I inquired about her qualifications and suggested Dr. Lim view my MRI’s & history and make that decision for himself. Her excuse was he has a solo practice and no physician’s assistants. Further,, she stated I already had “too many spine fusions” to qualify for his service (regardless of the fact they were done to avoid paralysis & ongoing chronic bone disease, never to seek pain relief). Run and never seek his expertise.

I am a nurse and suffered a severe hematoma from a skiing accident in 2010. Dr. Lim suggested burr holes however found that he had to perform a craniotomy on me instead due to the severity of the condition. I felt immediate relief from the severe headache pain the following day and have had minimal side effects ever since. I’m so glad to have had Dr Lim as my surgeon! He is competent, skilled and so very kind. My life was returned to me and I am very grateful.

Dr. Lim performed my ACDF and his level of care, attention to detail and concern were exceptional. I heard many good things about Dr. Lim and I can personally say they are all well-deserved.

Dr. Lym replaced two discs in my neck last fall--20 years of pain and PT are history. No more nasaids or nerve meds. Back in the gym, living a normal life. Office staff are superb. Zero problems with billing/insurance.

Dr. Lim performed a 2-level disc replacement on me 1-1/2 years ago. I have had complete relief from the symptoms In was having from an impinged nerve. His professionalism during the consultation, surgery and post surgery follow-up visits was outstanding. I would and have recommended Dr. Lim to family and friends.

Don't go to Dr. Lim if you are a person of size. I'm a size 18; I know this contributes to my back pain, unfortunately my back pain is severe enough that it also limits my activity levels. Dr. Lim looked at me with utter disgust, talked about how I'd "make his life easier" if I lost weight first, and how people who are "built like me" make his life more difficult. Then he actually traced the shape of my body in the air with his fingers, and compared me to his very petite assistant, saying, obviously with someone of YOUR size, the incision will be a lot bigger than it would be on someone of HER size. He was full of contempt and disgust for me and honestly, I'm not even that big a person. Like I said, I'm aware of the physics of my situation but there are ways to handle it with courtesy, professionalism, and grace, and he showed me none of that. I left his office in tears. No way would I trust this man to cut me open for any reason whatsoever; I'm not sure he thinks fat people… deserve to live a pain free life, or life at all. I have never had a doctor treat me with such utter disgust. Please if you are a person of size, find someone else.

Dr. Lim performed surgery on me at the end of 2017. Among all his other remarkable qualities such as bedside manner and thorough knowledge of my condition- he has superlative talent and skill as a surgeon. His NP Meghan is just wonderful too. Thank you Dr. Lim! I will always refer people to your practice!

worst visit every don't waste your time or money

Wow - where do I start? I'm super particular about details. Dr. Lim is the most compassionate, caring, attentive, empathetic, knowledgeable, (I can go on) doctor I've ever met. I wish he could provide ALL of my medical care. He takes ALL the time I need - he responds to every question thoroughly - he welcomes family involvement and answers their questions. He performed surgery on my back and due to NO fault of his, I have to have another. There isn't another person on this earth that I would feel so at ease with. I've referred my sister to him and will refer anyone I know in need of his expertise. His bedside manner is tremendous and he has a great sense of humor. HIGHLY recommend him!!!!
