While treating my father at the hospital, who presented with a heart infection causing two strokes, she refused to explain a treatment plan to family members. Did not prescribe antibiotics or fluids for 4 days to a man unable to swallow or move his right side. Told my father it was his own fault for being weak bc he wasn?t eating-can?t swallow due to strokes. And when we asked why he wasn?t being treated for an active heart infection her response was ?he?s not symptomatic for endocarditis? to which we replied except for the numerous strokes. She refused to give a picc line for the 6 weeks of antibiotics that is standard of care for endocarditis and when she left the room she proceeded to go to the nurses station and trash my paralyzed father and his family so loudly that we could hear her in the room. Standard of care not met, patient respect not met, family understanding not done. Refused to speak to PCP or have a dr meeting to discuss lack of care plan.
