Dr. James Clinton Carpenter, PhD

I have been Dr. Carpenter’s patient for a few years. He helped me through a time of grief and supported me as I rebuilt my life. With his help we identified areas that were holding me back and not allowing me to move forward. He used talk therapy and often suggested resources and techniques to help me in addition to our meetings. He is compassionate, practical and knowledgeable in many areas of psychology, and keeps current with what is happening in mental health. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Carpenter is an excellent psychologist. He uses a humanist approach, rather than either a cognitive or analytic one. His client questionnaire which I filled out prior to undertaking therapy, gave me insights into some of the issues I would be confronting during my sessions. I have resolved several issues with Dr. Carpenter's assistance. I find Dr. Carpenter an attentive and insightful guide. I know no other professional relationship in which mutual trust and confidence is as important as in the field of therapist/client. I have learned that rapport is a key ingredient to psychological change and no one can be an excellent psychologist for all. If one cannot "click" with a new mental health professional early on he or she ought to find at different therapist. Just because I think poorly of Dr. X and highly of Dr. Carpenter it does not mean that you should also. This having been said I highly recommend anyone seeking assistance in the mental health field to see Dr. Carpenter and… decide if you agree with my five star rating.

Dr. Carpenter is a highly skilled, compassionate and thoughtful psychologist. He has been essential to my self-examination and self-discovery within therapy. I have always felt safe in his care and commitment to my well-being. He is wise and human in his approach... conveying understanding and acceptance. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who braves the therapy experience. He will not let you down.

During the two years I have been a patient of Dr. James Carpenter, he has helped me to integrate many painful aspects of my life.. He has actually saved my life. I will be forever grateful for the gentleness, kindness, understanding and caring he has shown to me.
