Dr. James Stuart Coulter, MD

Best Family Physician in Washington DC.

This physician was dismissive of my questions and my requests. Two examples: 1. I described symptoms of menopause and requested hormonal testing. This physician refused. About a year later, I got that testing, which showed I was in menopause. 2. I described symptoms of sudden extreme fatigue and asked for ideas on what might be causing that. The physician tried to refer me to a psychiatrist, even though I made clear that depression was not the cause of my physical symptoms. Two years later, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that explains the fatigue. I can now receive effective treatment. I would never recommend this physician to any patient. He refused to treat me like a partner in my own care. That lack of respect is unlikely to be against just one middle-aged female patient, but against other patients as well.

Dr. Coulter is treating my husband for a number of conditions. Dr. Coulter is sincere and caring, giving us as much time as we need. It has been almost impossible to get my husband to see a doctor, but because of Dr. Coulter's manner, my husband feels comfortable discussing his health issues. I am so happy we found Dr. Coulter and recommend him highly.

Dr. Coulter is an awesome Dr.!!! He is very compassionate, and he listens to his patients!!!
