After being a patient for years,the office called the day before my appointment to tell my insurance Was no longer in acceptable.insurance company said he signed their contract

So I would visit Dr Dowd on a regular basis and he was a decent doctor. Problem is office staff cancelled appointment day before saying account was in collections yet which I had absolutely no idea of. When I would visit and inquire about balance there never was one. Weirdest and most rudest people who accepted no responsibility for behavior. Not sure how my account would be in collection when I would see him every two months. Straightened all that up and rescheduled appointment. Tried to talk to Dr Dowd and Billing Manager about what transpired only to be told I had to prepay copay. Not sure why anyone would pay a coininsurance or bill your insurance company only to try to straighten out a poorly run office. Rudest billing manager Kylie, they took no responsibility stating I had to pay coinsurance to see the doctor to talk about the billing issue even if I didn’t want to see him professionally. I walked out ~

Doctor Dowd is a nice combination of a Physician who will offer tradtional medicine as well as natural remedies/ other options that are research based. He can be very opinionated, but it is his job to tell his patients what he believes is the best course of treatment. He has always been willing to listen to my point of view. For me personally, he first tried a conservative approach and then when he felt it was necessary, he recommended a more traditional pharmaceutical approach. I think Dr. Dowd is very knowledgeable and I would recommend him.

Dr. Dowd pretty much has his own agenda regarding a treatment plan, which is fine, but he didn't want to listen to my medical history and general complaints, he asked me his many form questions, then came to the conclusion I need to go on a paleo diet, read a few books regarding managing my pain and stress naturally, including his book the Vitamin D cure. Ha..what a waste of my time. I could have done that much just seeing a nutritionist.

The whole appointment was was all about cows that were raised on grass only. It seems that Mr Dowd himself may have been raised on grass. waste of time. looking for a real doctor.

Dr Dowd shouldn't even be called a Dr. He lectured for 2 hours about meditating and journaling. If I did those things, my pain would go away. He ordered no tests to see if there was something going on. He just lectured and puffed himself up with his book writing skills and the fact that he doesn't use medicine. I truly wish I would never have entered into his office. I have since found a rheumatologist who has done lab tests and accurately diagnosed me and I have found tremendous help. NO thanks to Mr Dowd.

Dr. Dowd is an awesome doctor. When you first meet him, you can tell right away that he is very intelligent. However he talks to you and explains things in such a way that the average person can understand what hes saying. When I first met with Dr. Dowd I had a couple of issue going on. After reviewing my blood work and medical history, he turned to me and said everything that is going on with you can be fixed by diet and exercise. "Or you can continue your current life style and stay on the medications". Well I took his advice and changed my diet, still exercise as I did before I saw him. At my sixth month follow up visit he reviewed my charts and blood work and said you no longer need to be taking your meds anymore. To this day Ive stuck to the diet and I feel great. By the way I lost 25lbs while on this diet.

He seems to care but hasn't found acure for my severe R/A yet,Thinking about changing doctors.

if things are not black and white he does not look any further. Although, the lab work was negative, severe joint pain means something, which he and his staff did not care to address.
