Dr. James Allan Gasho, MD

I find Dr Gasho refreshing because he encourages me to do more, not less. Exercise is good for recovery & mental well being. So if you're an athlete, and you don't want a pessimistic diagnosis or to be told not to run, bike, swim, climb, etc you will find Jim Gasho a kindred spirit.

Gasho is the kind of Doc I like-- he's to the point, and doesn't go "big" right off the bat. I had a very bad case of Planter Faceitis, my foot might as well have broken. But Dr. Gasho didn't rush to an MRI, and didn't go the "nuclear" mother of all injections until we found that some physical therapy wouldn't do the trick. He was thorough, thoughtful and I always felt he had my interests at heart. In the end, we did do the mother of all injections directly into the mother of all heel spurs. Nasty, But I had relief in less than 2 hours, and subsequently cured. Any new Orthopeadic-type problems I have-- Dr. Gasho will be the one I go to.

Super nice, knowledgeable, answered questions and also able to email which is great because you always have questions once you leave an office. Clearly loves what he does and seems good at it.

Dr. Gasho treated me at Suburban Hospital's emergency room, when I fell and suffered an ankle injury. It turned out that I had a triple break (his first triple!). Recovery was slow but complete. Also great guy!!

James Gasho repaired my dislocated finger. My finger is in a permanent bent finger. He did not secure the tendons on my finger. I got a second opinion from Scott Thomas, Md. Dr Scott said Gasho never should have done my surgery. I have lost two jobs because finger does not function. I wouldn't send my dog to him.

I had a compound fracture to my right Tibia/fibula. Dr Gasho was at the hospital performing scheduled surgeries when i was transported by rescue squad. the front desk had paged him and he came to see me before the ER doctor. He made sure I was x-rayed, splinted, given pain killers and therefore comfortable, and relatively pain free beforek my surgery. the hospital ER doctor hadn't even prescribed painkillers for me at this point. I'd been there an hour with the bone sticking out! The Dr was able to explain the surgery to me add my boyfriend that would have to be performed on my leg. He also explained that I may not be able to have surgery for hours. He managed to get it scheduled 3 hours earlier than expected. The doctor saw me all three days I was in hospital. Follow-up has been excellent despite my slow heal. The office staff were nothing but efficient, friendly and direct. I highly recommend.

I recently broke my wrist and had the misfortune of taking Suburban Hospital's recommendation that I see Dr. Gasho for my cast and subsequent follow-up. In 4 visits, he didn't spend a total of 20 minutes with me. His personal appearance was fairly disheveled...he does not wear socks! The waiting room was always crowded with patients, and once, while I was waiting, he came out to the waiting room and openly discussed the case of another patient on his cell phone. In fact, he regularly took cell phone calls in front of other patients. And, finally, the exam rooms were FILTHY.

Dr. Gasho is the best! I had open shoulder surgery for 3 full tendon tears and I was basically pain free a few day after surgery and also the same when having physical therapy. Within 6 weeks I was doing my own strengthening exercises at home!

The office staff look totally dis-functional. Rude, and slow. Eating lunch in the reception area without any courtesy!I am not sure how this office runs with this staff to be honest!

Dr. Gasho himself was great!!!!! However, his front office staff was a little on the "edgy". Not really that smooth and not very professional...
