Dr. James Alan Goulet, MD

Dr. Goulet is an amazing doctor. Not only because his PAO procedure helped my daughter get out of pain after 7 years of searching for answers. He also is competent, caring and professional. You are allowed to ask questions. He gives you his personal attention. He also has an amazing staff to back him up. We never felt ignored or without the information we needed. He is honest to tell you if the procedure may be difficult but thorough in his explanation of what to expect. He would not do a procedure if he didn’t expect a positive outcome. Dr. Goulet is incredible! We were referred to him by Dr. Grant at U of M Orthopedics for my daughter's bilateral femoral anteversion and he took time to talk to her and was very patient and answered all of our questions. He has an awesome personality and bedside manner and didn't talk down to us, as some surgeons do. He performed surgery on her right leg last week and both he and his staff followed up with us while she was inpatient. I'm very impressed by Dr. Goulet.

Dr. Goulet has been my orthopedic dr since 2013and he has never steered me wrong. His advise has always been helpful. He explains everything he is going to do or suggests he wants to do in full detail to where you understand it and can make a God determination on moving forward with your health. The university of michigan hospital is a wonderful friendly and caring hospital as well as dr. Goulet. I trust myself in his hands and whatever he does to my body. It took four orthopedic Drs until I met dr goulet to tell me I had a labret tear in my left hip in 2013. He came in the room talked to me for a min left read my MRI results and not even 10 mins later came back in the room and said we'll you have a labret tear (hip impingement). About two months later I under went a hip scope cleaned me up and fixed the labret tear. Figured after that I would be better but unfortunately that wasn't the case two years later at 33 I under went a complete hip replacement due to the fact I was bone on… bone. Thinking everything is great which it wasn't, a yr later started having issues with the right hip and in 2017 found out I have a labret tear in that hip also. In Feb 2018 Dr goulet did a hip scope with the news not very good. I'm bone on bone and the labret tear is inseparable so in the next few months I will be getting a full hip replacement done by none other the great dr James Alan goulet.

Easy to talk to smart courteous listens to concerns follows through testing to confirm diagnosis further and is very down to earth wouldn't want n e one else

Dr Goulet is a fabulous caring Dr. who will take all the time you need to explain everything to you without you feeling rushed out. He also has a great personality and a humorous side. I hope you enjoy working with him as we did

Dr. Goulet has a great team assembled that work with him. He is kind, sensitive and compassionate. He is also an outstanding surgeon. He explained the procedure in detail, no question went unanswered. He was not in a hurry at any time. I was well cared for in post op and the care by the hospital was soooo good. All parts of the care worked together for the patient. I was home in less than 48 hrs. Excellent excellent experience.
