Dr. James Norton Grace, MD

Brought my daughter (13yrs old) in for a post follow up after her foot surgery performed by Dr. Grace. I told him she is hurting bad enough where she is crying from just walking 40 yard. He said there is nothing wrong with her ankle and she is probably seeking attention because of her mom passing away. He said this out loud 3 ft away from her! I brought my daughter to a sports clinic and turns out Dr. Grace left 3 peices of loose bone in her. The sports doctor removed the loose bone and shes never had a problem since. Months later one of my customers came in and we were talking about my daughter and he mentioned the doctor that did his shoulder replacement gave him staph infection twice. I jokingly said it wasnt Dr. grace was it. He shouted 'YES!" Turns out at his past clinic he had a nick name..DR. Staph

Went in for simple knee scope cleanup and ended up with DVT due to a junk lower leg compression pump (to help not develop DVT's) that failed twice after being replaced once. Graces Nurse blew me off when I called in after the second pump failed saying my leg was in pain. She scheduled me for an ultrasound 8 hours later instead of advising me to go to the ER. ended up with a DVT in my leg and on Warfrin blood thinner for 6 months. Now I have significant reflux in my greater saphenous vein causing much discomfort in my leg. Compression sock for the rest of my life. I have great admiration for Grace but his support staff is poor. Hope you don't have problems after surgery as you are on your own. Thanks for nothing

I might be one of the unlucky patients of Dr Grace. The knee replacement 2 years ago did not change my life to the better. The severe pain in the knee joint is gone but unfortunately replaced by an other kind of pain. My leg is very crooked and sticks out to the side, my foot is loosing its shape and I am developing problems wearing shoes. I have a constant painful "cramp" surrounding the knee implant that makes it very difficult for me to walk. All things I love, hiking, biking, skiing, all thing outdoor, has come to and end. My life will not ever be what I was told it would become after the knee replacement.

Dr.Grace has been my doctor for many years. He's done many surgeries and procedures on me, and family members over the years. I've only had one instance when I feel the follow up was subpar. I not only received an apology, but nothing like that has ever happened again. I believe not only is Dr. Grace a kind and caring doctor, but is open to admitting to something that may have gone wrong. There's 2 sides to every story, only heard one from the first commenter. I'll give you a tip, watch out for Tom Sullivan. You can thank me later.

His ownership of adverse events has been a problem in at least two occasions that we are aware of. One was post-surgical discharge where there were sufficient signs of infection presented to him by nursing staff to warrant investigation. The other was non-ownership of adverse events that occurred during surgery to another patient.He appears excellent if all goes well but has issues when they do not.

Dr Grace is a fantastic doctor who is open and caring about his patients. He is a doctor whom you can trust with your health and well being. Do not hesitate when you need an orthopedic surgeon.

Love Dr Grace. He listened to my problem and helped me get better. No one slse in the area could hepl me...He is the best anywhwre..
