I started my career as an anesthesiologist helping people who suffered from acute pain after surgery. During this time, I realized how little we as a society understand about pain. Even among healthcare professionals, it can be hard to quantify and explain - and physicians don't always understand it. Sometimes, they find it hard to grasp because there's not a lab or X-ray to prove it. Specializing in pain medicine takes quite a bit of skill. I take my time to listen to my patients to figure out what type of pain they have and the best treatment. I believe in each of my patients and support them. Many times, their family, friends and employers don't understand their pain or what they're going through. I want to help.

Apparently unknowlegeable of California's Intractable Pain Act. Either that or just simply uncaring

Wants to change what works. Pain managment should be about managing pain. Not guidelines. Guidelines AREN'T laws. Miss my old Dr. already.

He uses heroin all the time and his wife smokes meth. They shoot drugs intravenously together.

I felt like I met the person, not the white coat, at the office appointment and that was nice. He was present and answered all my questions. I liked him. The surgical appointment was a little more focused and I appreciated his professional manner for that too.

This was my initial appointment my assessment so I can't really say too much but his manner was very nice I'll know more when my follow up appointment in 2 weeks
