As a rheumatologist, I diagnose and treat patients with complex autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and lupus — just to name a few. These conditions are often complex, and can affect the joints, muscles, bones and even the internal organs and brain, which can affect my patients' lifestyles in a variety of ways. My patients benefit from my specialty training in rheumatology and many years of experience at David Grant Medical Center. Listening carefully to my patients is an important part of diagnosing and treating their disease. I also take an active role in educating my patients to help them manage their medical conditions. I want my patients to leave my office feeling that I really listened to them and knowing that they have a healthcare advocate who will work with them to improve their quality of life. I care for adult patients ages 18 and older.

I had a very unpleasant experience with Dr. Schoenwetter. She tries to come off as extremely smart that it interferes in her practice of speaking to the patient with respect and compassion. She comes off as condescending and rude. She mocked me a few times and ultimately said, “I don’t know what to tell you, I can’t help you.” To someone who is ill, these words are extremely offensive. She could definitely use some training in this area. I will not be returning and wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. Unless you want to be mocked and leave her office feeling even worse than when you came in.

I love Dr. Schoenwetter and her staff. They show great concern for her patients not just in their treatment. I leave her office after every appointment feeling she covered my every need in the treatment. She also stays on top of my labs and has even called for me to repeat my labs because she was concerned about one of the results. Great Dr. and her staff.

Saw her about 2 yrs ago to get told i was fat nd she didnt know why i was refered to her my blood work was saying auto immune well 2 yrs later with the same blood numbers as 2 yrs ago and new doctor and i have lupus

I have a rare connective tissue disorder/autoimmune disease. I'd be lucky to find a rheumotologist who will treat me, much less my own doctors. I met her in the hospital and she was very compassionate and very knowledgeable, which gives me hope for a treatment to slow down my disease process. I will never be cured but at least I would like to be treated by her with compassion and understanding. Her staff are very nice also,
