Dr. James Kort

I’ve never experienced such ignorance from a doctor in my lifetime. Dr. Kort would ask a question, then cut you off. After repeating myself for the fourth time about a fall I had that caused my knee pain, he said “you’re overweight, that causes knee pain”. What???? He also said if you’re planning to sue the establishment where you fell, we are not legally equipped to handle that. Who is he to assume I’m suing? He snapped at me and I snapped back. I believe you treat others like you want to be treated. I’m disappointed I stooped to his level. Stay away!!! There are much better Orthopedic Doctors in this state.

This morning was the second time I went to Dr. Kort. First time I waited over an hour to see him. This morning my appointment was at 07:00 & I still waited 15 minutes with no one else in the waiting room. I had been to urgent care last week with a problem with my knee. I told him what I had done & what the doctor there had said. I had soft tissue issues & needed an MRI not x-ray. So what does Dr. Kort do but order an x-ray. It showed mild osteoarthritis so he did two injections, one in the knee joint & one in the bursa that was supposed to be long acting lidocaine. Three hours later I could not bend my knee or bear weight on it, I put a call into his MA & have not heard back. I don't think I will be keeping my follow-up visit with him.

I have known Dr. Kort since 2006 when he did knee surgery and rotator cuff surgery for me. He also did a very satisfactory hip fracture repair for my 89 year old Mother. After I learned he was no longer doing surgery, I had to find another ortho surgeon for a hip replacement in 2013. Over the years my body rejected the original implant, with many complications. Due to my past experience with Dr. Kort, I knew he would help steer me in the right direction for the existing implant problems. He sincerely listened to me and then spent a lot of time compiling my case info as he knew there were serious complications. Dr. Kort referred me to a superior surgeon for the urgent hip revision I had to have done. Dr. Kort was kind, concerned, and thorough, and determined to get the best care for my upcoming surgery. The hip revision was very successful. Thank you, Dr. Kort!

Very friendly and took time with me the first visit. When I had my followup, he seemed in a rush. And when I told him my lower back had been hurting really bad, and asked if he could order X-ray, CT or MRI to check it out. He said I didn't need any tests and he referred me to PT. Now, I am seeing a pain specialist and having epidurals for the bulging disk that is pushing against a nerve so that I can't stand longer than 10-15 minutes. I was there for a follow up after he gave me a cortisone shot for my hip. And I guess that's all he would be treating that visit. If he had just said yes, I may have avoided a lot of other medical expenses and some pain that has brought me to my knees. I wish he would have listened!

i feel that dr kort saved my hip that was about to break, unknowing to me it was filled with cancer. he took matters into his own hands and set up radiation and surgery very fast. i found him very concerned and interested in my recovery. i felt he was very caring and explained the entire procedure to me so i could understand what was being done.

Dr Kort did my left knee operation - surely wish he had also done the right knee as well! Absolutely no problems whatsoever. It has been 3 months now and I have been pain free for nearly 2 months! My right one still bothers me and it has been 7 years! He is excellent and has a very good PA.

Dr. Kort was exceptionally thorough and caring with regards to my mother. I was very impressed with his personable nature and dedication to making sure we were fully informed and educated about the issues and plan for care going forward. We made a rather last minute appointment and had no trouble getting in to see him. He did a full workup with necessary imaging as well. Finally, Dr. Kort used an evidence based approach to surgical care that was very reassuring. I highly recommend in and will certainly return personally and refer future patients to his practice.

He gets somewhat distracted...like leaving the exam room while you're in mid word.
