Dr. James Claude Leek, MD

Dr. Leek has been my rheumatologist for more than 10 years. He displays a tremendous depth of knowledge of disease process and a breadth of treatment modalities. Has helped me understand my prognosis and is straight forward with answers to my questions. He displays integrity and promptness in his communications with my other health care practitioners. When he chooses to retire, UCD will lose a valuable asset and team member. I have no reservation in recommending him as a rheumatologist.

Dr. Leek may make you wait sometimes, but it's cause he doesn't just rush you in and rush you out. He actually listens to what your problem is and tries to help. Don't know what happened with the other people who rated him here, but I think he's a caring, competent doctor.

I have learned more about what may be going on with my health from the internet than him. Never knows what is going on. Is definitely not up on the latest info and when asked about a specific joint he told me he didn't know what was wrong with it. Another health professional told me it was arthritis.

Very nice man but seems lost. Unorganized, VERY slow to communicate. Not up with the times makes me doubt if he's up on latest medical findings concerning the medicines and my situation. Should step aside. His office staff makes constant apologies for his fumbling and state of being confused.
