Dr. James Joseph Maly, MD

Please take the high reviews with a grain of salt especially the more recent ones. This man is now 70 years old and hopefully will retire soon. Years ago he helped me with an issue that other doctors couldn’t which was great. I put my trust in him. He has slowly lost that trust. Every year I have to hear about his products he’s backing or what new ‘invention’ they have with IUD’s or whatever. It’s really become a sales pitch. If you have a separate provider you prefer to go to for some women’s things or a second opinion, he gets very offended and defensive. He doesn’t want to hear your reasoning or anything else you have to say. He is not interested in your point of view. He interrupts and won’t stop talking so you have a turn. He didn’t used to be quite this bad. His nurses rotate a lot; they don’t stick around long and apparently for good reason. The last few years they have not been very intelligent or kind. I’ve been thinking about finding a new obgyn and this year… cinched that thought for me. I will not return to his practice, not even to see another doctor with the way they are conducting business. Ironically, the same day as my visit I ran into a waitress who used to see him. He over medicated her during her pregnancy and she left as well.

I've been seeing Dr Maly for 35 years and I trust him immensely. I hope he never retires because I don't think I could find someone as knowledgeable and caring.

Scheduling was easy! Dr. Maly is very knowledgeable, he understands and listens to your issues and has the best bedside manners!! I would refer any woman to Dr. Maly!!

I really liked Maly's bedside manner at our inital visit, then during surgery there were complications due to him putting in too much gas, which stopped my heart. Afterwards I was not told why my heart stopped and I never spoke to Dr Maly only his staff, who skirted around the issue.I felt horrable for a week after sugery & I kept getting lightheaded and sick to my stomach, so I went to see him. All they did was some blood work, they wern't even going to check by BP until I asked. He came in with the lab results and only said everything is fine and then just walked out, I had to follow him out and ask what to do or are we done? He said we are done and walked away. I was shocked at his behavior. I left feeling like he couldn't get out of the room fast enough or that he was more worried about being sued then caring for his scared patient, (whom thanks to the anastegiologist, I was brought back). All I could do was cry in the parking lot why I waited for my ride home because I was too… sick to drive. I was so upset I didn't even want to get my biopsy results from him. I went to a different doctor to get my biopsy results transferred over and have a second surgry (which had no complications) NOTE to Dr Maly: I would never sue someone who fixed their mistake, so don't assume that was what you were risking, not every one is money hungry! but a simple "are you ok?" would have stopped you getting a review like this. You should be ashamed of your behavior.

I can actually say, I looked forward to SEEING this man throughout my pregnancy. Yes, really! I walked out of his office each week feeling nothing could go wrong, because I was under the care of a truly fantastic doctor. I've heard others say it about him, but he really *does* put you at ease. And if you're a worry-wart like me (I need to stop watching those Discovery Health programs)... he has this way of deflecting your unwarranted concerns with a slight humor - while still listening and thoroughly addressing the concerns that ARE important. The perfect combination, and I walked out feeling relieved and smiling every time I left. A great experience, beginning to end. Dr. Maly is a great doctor to be under the care of.

Love Dr. Maly. He cares, he explains in detail. Only thing that bothers me is he is a type A bounce off the walls hurry hurry.
