Dr. James Matthew Maxwell, MD

Dr. Maxwell did my VSD repair back in August of 1996 at Balboa Naval Medical Hospital. He was amazing and the team he had had the ut- most respect for me and my husband and Dr. Maxwell. I have since had 2 kids. Both grown and a geandbaby on the way. I had an appointment today with the cardiologist I have now in Texas and had a clean bill of health and have not had any trouble with my heart since my surgery. I will fore er be in Dr. Maxwells debt and he will.always be my favorite cardiothoracic surgeon!

Dr. Maxwell performed a double valve repair and a single bypass on me in July of '25. He is simply the best. I have heard nothing but high praise for him, other than the ridiculous one star review posted on this page. I would suggest that you read that one very slowly, and take it for what it's worth.

I am extremely disappointed with the ETHICS, MOTIVES, METHOD, and treatment given and taken by Dr. Maxwell apparently all to gain access to my bank accounts and credit under the guise of my Mother he gained access to Accounts waltzed across the room in a SARCASTIC maneuver pertaining to the bible where Jesus had a woman approach him and touch the sleeve of his garment hence taking the power out of him that she needed to be well walked over and place his hand on my sleeve, about 5 years before someone took all my paid for clothing, designer items I'd gotten / wages of a mouse, 25 years at the time they ripped me off notice my initials are CS same as are Cardiothoracic Surgeon I'd been WHAMMIED by a surgeon before so this was, though a bit more complex and pricey, a bit more HURTFUL as well this incident occurred at just the moment an out of state entity had offered me a nice employment situation, financially, after my having completed 90 University classes myself… and they instead substituted a $97.00 removal / W-2 taxes, 6 years hence that was stated as 53,000, like 53 + 44 = 97 in a bait and switch at that time we were dating, a fellow and myself yet it was my desire to get situated in a suitable employment situation with a pre-nup before tying the knot I've since had to start over with the clothes on my back after having invested for 27 years into my credit accounts & financial security his patient tries to bribe me with a scrap her and there and an article of clothing while having my brother's M.D. friend pull strings so I can't get my MEDICAL care issues addressed PROPERLY the run around in legal and medical circles and being told 'you try so hard' while they sabotage every dammed attempt I make to establish relationships and career stability he MOCKS me here and there even having repeated things that were said IN CONFIDENCE like thumbing his nose at me in various an asundry situations and has accused me of doing to him what he did to me, STALKING and PREDATORY behavior there have been threats to my life on the road and interpersonally SINCE the HEART surgery so I attribute all of the negativity to his accessing my accounts

From the first moment I met Matt Maxwell, I felt absolute and total confidence in him and the International Heart Institute. He's a straight shooter. Tells you straight out what's up. In my case, I was in heart failure with A-fib and two leaky valves and a seriously enlarged heart. He didn't sugarcoat anything and spelled out the risks. Then he performed his surgical magic and I am better than I have been in years. Great bedside manner and he listens to what you say and ask. I thank God that I had him as my cardio-thoracic surgeon. And to top it off he is a very caring man of humility.

An impressive doctor with wonderful bedside manner and skill. He has it all.

Mr Maxwell has his hands in me for 4 hrs on my second aortic heart valve transplant, This man in my books is the best. Very intelligent man, down to earth, and tells you how it is or was. Second heart valve replacement was due to a bacterial infection in my blood which was very evasive to my heart, It literally attacked the area the mechanical valve was sewn into, the aorta for about an inch and also the corenary artery from off the aorta.This bacteria was caused from a bad tooth believe it or not. To make a long story short once again Mr.Maxwell had his hands in me again. He had to replace the Whole aorta, including the valve and the first corenary artery from off the Aorta This surgery to 6.5 hrs, and that day he had 3 surgeries scheduled including mine. Very dedicated Surgeon He's the best in my books. Nearest to God I can think of. Gave me life 2 times..
