James E. Patti, M.D., is a surgeon at Edison Spine Center with over three decades of experience. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery since 2001 and has since been recertified twice more.

Dr. Patti received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, at the University of Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree and was the recipient of the Merck Book Award for outstanding academic achievement.

Dr. Patti’s internship and residency were both performed at William Beaumont Hospital, followed by a spine fellowship at the University of Virginia. Dr. Patti has the unique ability to perform surgery through the entire range of spinal disorders—cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine—utilizing surgical techniques for the anterior and posterior approach as well as combined approaches.

He has done research and authored articles in his specialty. He currently teaches orthopaedic care to Family Practice …residents at JFK Medical Center in New Jersey.

Dr. Patti is highly knowledgeable and guides his patients carefully through their treatment. He answers my questions in layman's terms and has a phenomenal bedside manner. He also ensures his patients know their options towards informed decisions and next steps.

After having neck surgery, on the eleventh week he released me to go back to work "Full Duty" as a police officer. He stated to me " I did my job, if you are still in pain, go to a management doctor." Normally its about five months recovery. I was still curled up in a fetal position in pain. I had to go to other doctors to get notes to stay out of work.

It was my second neck surgery in two years, Patti removed bent hardware from my neck and removed two additional disc's. On the 11th week of recovery, while still curlled up most of the time in a fetal position. Dr. patti released me to return to full duty as a Police Officer in a black and white. he stated, I did my job, if your in pain, go to pain management. I went to other doctors who kept me out of work for about 5 months, which is about the normal time for an operation such as mine.he gave no reason why he did this. About 2 yrs later, I ran into a nurse that works in the office, She was shocked !I would not trust this guy at all.
