Dr. James Edwin Rice, MD

Dr. Rice is a awesome Dr. he’s very caring, he listens and answers all your questions honestly. As does his PA, she’s very nice as well. Every person in his office is very nice and professional. It’s a blessing going someplace that even the staff cares and is friendly. Thank Yoo Dr. Rice and your Staff.

Takes time to explain and help with documentation requirements

If I did not have a referral to this doctor through Tricare (already a hard med system to deal with) I would never go back. The average wait time is over an hour (past your appt time) and then you rarely even see Dr. Rice...you see the PA. it doesn't seem like they take very accurate notes because I get asked for the same things over and over. The best thing they did for me was refer me to physical therapy. I would never trust them to actually perform any type of surgery.

Prior patient's reviews seem over inflated in their positive reviews. Waited 1.5 hours before being seen by doctor. Doctor spent a little over 6 minutes with me in the exam room - the clinic did not seem busy, meaning only two in the waiting room when I checked in, and they were seen and left before I was moved into an exam room. Other patients came and left while I was waiting. Admin Assistants at check-in and check-out was courteous and friendly, but may have been new as they had to call/ask someone else when I asked a question. Doctor does not speak much, did not provide any patient education/details of the MRI images I brought to him. He came-in, asked where are you hurting the most, performed some function/strength tests. Probed with hands on shoulder and neck for pain points. I told him that prior physical therapy had not help much and was sore after each session. He said as PT did not help he would write prescription for steriodial anti-inflammatory. He left the room to… write this prescription. Thought he would return with additional instructions/information. Instead, a medical assistant came-in with three prescriptions. When I asked her what the other prescriptions were for she did not know, When I asked if the exam was over, she said yes, follow me to check-out. She did look over the written prescriptions and did tell me that one of the prescriptions was generally written for pain relief. From this experience, I cannot recommend this clinic nor the doctor to others. I will be seeking another professional. NO/poor bed-side manner, non-communicative, no patient education, did not tell me his diagnosis of what may be causing the pain and stiffness.

Dr. Rice has many years of experience. He is very competent and works with MRI and listens to the patient while helping them. I would recomend him to anyone with back problems.

Dr. Rice can pin point the problem. he is always there when I need him had two back fusions.

I asked Dr. Rice about my surgery, and he answered all my questions and even performed my surgery perfect. I have not felt any pain since the surgery and I am getting around just great after only 4months since my surgery.

My back operation took almost 9hrs over 2yrs ago. Today I am fly fishing Montana and can kayak with my sons again.
