Dr. James Benjamin Robbins, MD

I’ve been hospitalized twice in the last four months, and both times I was fortunate to have Dr. Robbins as a doctor. He consistently took the time to listen, asked thoughtful follow-up questions, and truly made an effort to get to know me as a person/patient. Dr.Robbins as well as the other staff are the reason I will choose Arizona general again.

He told us my spouse had 6 months to live and he told me on a conference call in my car as I was turning into the hospital! My spouse heard the dire prediction without a loved one for support. He called in hospice and they came twice to visit us. They are wonderful but not needed at that time. Another Dr. came in to see us the next day and asked why so glum. When we told him what Dr. Robbins said, he said " absolutely not, and proceeded to tell us why that prognosis was incorrect. Epic fail on all accounts. Over two years later, and the " condition" was not cancer, and spouse is going strong. PRACTICING MEDICINE, I get, but how about the emotional shatter he put us both in.
