Dr. James Courtland Robinson, MD

Doctor Robinson is the kindest, loving, caring and best Doctor I have ever known. I am a Physician Assistant now because of his intervention. Dr allowed God used him to remove my 8 year duration giant cranial tumour in 2008. Now our success story is worldwide, giving inspiration and motivation to all.

I had a very poor experience with Dr. Robinson. After many consults, I decided to have a double craniotomy to partially resect my facial nerve tumor. While other neurosurgeons around the country warned me that the location/size of my tumor would lead to facial paralysis, if resected, Dr. Robinson was nearly certain (he likes to say 95% sure or 99% sure) of a favorable outcome. In the biggest mistake of my life, I chose Dr. Robinson to perform two craniotomies. I am now left with “half a face”. The left side of my face is completely paralyzed. I have undergone one operation (eye) to clean up Dr. Robinson’s failed operation, with two additional complicated nerve transfers/operations scheduled. When consulting with other neurosurgeons in Atlanta, a very prominent and reputable neurosurgeon noted, “Dr. Robinson is often wrong. But never in doubt.” I should have heeded his counsel, but sometimes when faced with difficult circumstances you only hear what you want to hear. I could not… see through Dr. Robinson’s bravado, salesmanship, and feigned confidence. I should have known better than to blindly trust the self-proclaimed brain expert. What’s even worse, he never, not once, followed up with me to see how I was doing after the botched surgeries. And that’s even more unforgivable/shameful than the disastrous situation that he put me and my family in.

I have had trigeminal neuralgia since 1999. After exhausting all non evasive procedures, I finally decided on surgery to relieve the horrible pain. I picked the right doctor. Dr. Robinson made feel at ease during my initial and pre-op visits as Kelli and the Doc. explained what to expect throughout the procedure. Believe it or not, I felt at ease went I arrived at the hospital for the surgery. I woke up in recovery with no pain and no side effects. I was home in two days, right on the planned timeline. Dr. Robinson acted promptly and courteously with my wife who had a cyst on her brain in the worst possible place. After he described just how dangerous it was, he let us know that his staff was arranging time in the operating room for the following morning, rearranging his schedule, and sent us to admissions at the hospital. Everyone at the hospital called him phenomenal. I agree. He saved my wife.

Dr. Robinson is a very good back surgery doctor. He is very honest and straight forward about what he recommend he can do to help you do better and feel better after your surgery. He even ask you what kind of things you would like to be able to do after post surgery. He even perfected the surgery procedure so that it was less invasive. Now 5yrs later my quality of life has improve 75%

Dr. Robinson reviewed my wife's MRI on a Wednesday and cleared his schedule to do a 15 1/2 hour surgery the next day to remove a large tumor on the base of her brain. She survived this difficult surgery and is on the road to recovery. He and his PA have a very open collaborative communication mindset and really care about their patients.
