For years I had my primary care doctor tell me I desperately needed to have my tonsils removed, and like most people I avoided it! I didn't want to think about it, or going under. However after having BOTH my tonsils abscess (at the SAME TIME) to the point where I was RUSHED to UK hospital in Lexington, KY due to the fact that my throat was closing up, and it was getting hard to breath; I finally caved in and said, "Ok, I'll get these tonsils taken out even though the thought scares me." My doctor referred me to Dr. Salmon, however as soon as he took one look at me, it didn't matter what I said next! He gave me this story that hes heard about 2yrs old DYING on the operating table due to getting their tonsils out, and he really wanted me to think about what I wanted. I was already scared of doing this procedure, and here was a licensed doctor, basically scarring me even more so, so that he wouldn't have to do his job! Needless to say I still have my tonsils and I still deal with them… abscessing almost yearly! Furthermore, now that I have the nerve to actually do it, regardless of Dr. Salmon's wasteful advice, I do not have the medical insurance that would cover the cost or even half the cost of the procedure! AVOID THIS DOCTOR if you can help it!! Go somewhere else! Oh and after the fact, I found out that he was actually scheduled to leave to go on vacation when he would have had to schedule my operation. Never trust a doctor, who thinks more of his/ her vacation than your health!
