Dr. John Anthony Ruth Jr, MD

The girls that work for him are horrible, so ugly and so disrespectful. I show up for my 8am appointment and dr Ruth isn’t even here yet, 30 min after waiting. I told amber that and she told me to find another doctor then. So that is what I will do. Never have I ever been treated so ugly. I called dr Ruth a week ago and he doesn’t call back after multiple calls after he just operated on my 2 year old 3 days before that and the secretary told me to just “chill” even though my son has 104 fever. When he finally called me he said didn’t you son have surgery months ago? I was like really??? Never will I ever be back here. Warning for all future patients.

I used to see other doctors in this office, at the advice of my family physician, who have now retired. His staff was very helpful and got me an appointment quickly because someone cancelled. He on the other hand is the worst doctor I have ever had the unfortunate luck of seeing. He told me his diagnoses and "prescription" for my issue before he even did an examination. He then tried to get me to set up an appointment in 2 weeks to talk about it when I made my displeasure known. I am sure everyones experience is different but mine was abysmal and I could not reccomend anyone go to this office.

I went to Dr Ruth, with a voice problem, which I had for almost 7 months, after other doctors thought I had a sinus infection. Dr Ruth listened to my symptoms, ran the scope and delivered an opinion. He is short in words, but hopefully hit the correct diagnosis, acid reflux laryngitis.

My child has conductive hearing loss and has had multiple problems with her ears. She started seeing Dr. Ruth after her ENT retired and my child loves him. He explained everything to where even my child understood and answered all of our concerns

My son has seen him three times. First time he recommended multiple surgeries (tubes, tonsils, etc). I disagreed and requested we try a different medicine. Second time we waited over an hour to see him after he rescheduled our appointment multiple times- my child was fine, no surgery needed. The third time we waited an hour and a half after being rescheduled twice. He walked in the room asked me how my kid was and just grabbed his face and tested his ear without warning. My five year old lost his mind while Dr. Ruth scolded him for being badly behaved. My kid is far from perfect but if you can't take a couple minutes out of your day to work with a CHILD maybe you shouldn't work with children. I asked the staff who I could speak with to file a complaint and the told me there was nothing they could do because he's the doctor. I asked for any number and was told there wasn't one. I asked the tristar receptionist and was told the doctor is part of graves Gilbert and there wasn't anything… they could do. So disappointed. We teach our kids to trust doctors and this guy treated my five year old like garbage.

Went 3 times. All 3 times long wait; last time waited 45 minutes past appt time to see doctor. Each time the doctor appeared in rush. I literally had to chase the doctor as he exited the examine room to ask the follow up questions I needed answers too. Probably won't go back in future.

I was very pleased with how he worked with my special needs son. He communicated well with me in a way that I could understand easily, and he was sensitive to our needs. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an ENT, especially for a child.
