Dr. James Frederick Schmidt

He is excellent. Took time to learn family history. Actually read charts from my family Dr. Double checked to be sure all was good while I was in recovery. Very considerate of my personal quirks..motor nerve,sensory nerves are switched. Addiction problems etc. Updates after healing. Very meticulous surgeon. There is nothing I can think of that is negative about this man.

Dr.Schmidt fixed the arthritis in my neck so my arm would work again. He spent far more time being meticulous in his work than most.Very good at his work. I trust him totally. So now, 9 years later I want him to fix my newest neck injury...(smile of confidence here) Absolute faith in this man.

Very thorough! He fixed me twice for my discs in my back. He is a perfectionist! I have no pain anymore! Ruptured disc on my saciatic nerve the 2nd round. I no longer tax my back! Still able to be the true athlete I am able to bike, hike, mtn bike, lift weights. Careful with the back! I highly recommend him!

Dr. Schmidt is old, outdated, and should complketely retire. He is out of touch with modern Neurosurgery and treatment. I would never let him operate on me.

Dr. Schmidt was excelent and impressive in my first meeting asking probing questions about my medical history. When we decided which avenue we would take he was very thorough in explaining what I should expect. He must have golden hands he did two surgeries for me in one month, 1 lower back and 1 on my neck. Dr. Schmidt did an excellent job on my neck surgery. I have healed fast and am pain free. He is an awesome surgeon.However, he does not give very much information. He hands you what looks like an out dated pamplet. Once on a follow up visit I sat in the exam room for 45 minutes. I think he forgot me.FYI: Have your questions ready. Stop him before he vanishes out the door. When he is finished answering one question quickly ask the next, and so on. He will escape if there is a lull. But truly, he is an excellent surgeon and his staff is awesome.

Dr. Schmidt was recommended as being the best, but I didn't get a chance to verify this information. I went back to him after being diagnosed operable over 18 months ago, but encouraged to put off surgery as long as possible. When I did go back Dr. Schmidt had to be reminded of his own diagnosis. He was quiet, failed to communicate or inform; he left during the appointment to tend to another matter; left again after talking about getting a steroid shot then failed to arrange that.Dr. Schmidt just vanished while a nurse arranged a MRI and we never did hear what he planned for me.Dr. Schmidt seems to have bought into his own press as he displays a god-like expression in the patient's presence.

I was in extreme pain, other treatments were attempted with no success. My Internal Medical MD got me an appointment with Dr. Schmidt who worked me into his schedule, requested MRI and x-rays within two days. He gave me all my options, I accepted surgery as the only choice. Four days later took me to surgery. Within two to three days after the surgery the neck and shoulder pain was gone. Almost a year later I am still pain free. A SUPERB DOCTOR!!!!
