Dr. James Clayton Stoody, MD

Dr. Stoody assistant was very condescending, rude and difficult to work with. Don't send your patients to this office.

I had my 6 months appt on Nov 26th @10 am and when I arrived for my appt Mary the office receptionist told me I was late that she called the day before and it was @9:15 which she never called to confirm that it change etc! I felt she was rude, unprofessional especially there was patients in the waiting rm too! She spoke to me very harsh tone! I spoke to Dr. Stoody about it because I was very very upset and he said he would talk to her! I feel that Dr Stoody it's the best comforting dr! If this behavior continues with Mary I'm going to chose a different dr ASAP! I don't feel I need to deal with that especially a dr officeI I only stay with Dr Stoody because he has been my dr for serveral yrs but I don't feel I should have to deal with Mary's Unprofesstionalism! I also feel that Mary needs more help too! The others ladies they had there were more Pleasent especially Pam I miss her! Hope Mary gets her act together very soon! Uncertain patient!????

He refused my referral and I ended up hospitalized and diagnosed with seizures

Unprofessional, rude, dismissive His front office person is extremely passive aggressive and just plain dismissive and rude. I am in the field and would never think to treat patients the way I have been treated. She spoke over me and refused to hear anything I had to say from the very beginning of the phone call. They never called me back from a message I left and she said they were on “vacay” I started to ask her while she proceeded to speak over me if she was aware they left no indication of that on their answering machine, she continued to speak and not listen. I was told that I had been a no show a couple of times then abruptly placed on hold for the better part of 5 minutes. When Mary came back to the phone she informed me that Dr. Stoody would not see me because I had been a no show. When I tried to talk and tell her that was not so she again spoke over me and said the infamous “ I am not going to argue with you” again without listening to a word I said. When she finally did… hear me she said I had been a no show one time. I not aware of this so I went online to myhealthonline to look up the appointments and they were gone. I just got a call back from Mary who said she spoke with the Dr. and he wanted me to come in and speak with him... translation Money from ins co and me for appt to sit and talk to him about getting an EEG which we a lready decided I was going to have??? I find this quite interesting and a bit concerning. I will admit that I have waited a very long time to do this, out of just wanting to be in denial about how I feel, but that is my choice as a person. That doesn’t mean I need to sit down with the Dr. to talk about anything... My thoughts ... I would go somewhere else. I don’t feel it is ok to be treated with disrespect by anyone and especially when you have health issues. People with neurological problems have a hard enough time navigating like on a day to day basis and need good, professional, smart, compassionate care!!!

James Stoody along with his assistant Mary are the rudest and most arrogant medical people I have ever met. Mary needs to see a Proctologist for obvious reasons, and James needs to retire and seek anger management. As someone else pointed out, James Stoody doesn't even deserve one star. He can't concentrate and fixates on one thing. In my case it was my MRI even telling me that what I brought him wasn't mine. He is a jerk and again Mary, she's a stick up there so far she tastes wood.

To every symptom, he stated “don’t know how to work that into the equation “. Became fixated on one symptom and totally ignored the rest. Saw his EMG report and he completely misstated my complaints. STAY AWAY

Very disinterested in me as a person and what I was going through. Heard what he wanted to hear, made up his mind and was not connected to the appt./me or paraphrased correctly what I felt. Every time I tried to explain further, made me feel like they were the same symptoms as before, which they were absolutely not. I have been dealing with my symptoms my whole life and so I know when it is different. He would not really look at me as he spoke, not personable or tried to connect to me and make me feel like I was really dealing with something important to me. Just get in, go through the basics, her you go, get out. Basically said, "hey you look healthy and your quick check doesn't show anything, so not quite sure what to tell you." Then he said, "what do you want to do?, I can give you something if you want." WHAT? ahhh, ok I guess, sounds like high level years in medicine solutions, to me! I mean can he at least explain or show me why what I was feeling occurs? I am an adult… and want to learn from a doctor I am paying to give me information so I can deal with it. Then what he gave me was a drug that would, what I found out, make me gain weight- he rattled off like he was a computer other things, but not that. So needless to say I am not going to fill it or go back. Next! If you would have been personable and understanding, I may have just e-mailed you my concerns and then moved on, but hopefully your time in the business has not made you not care or sour. I hope this can wake you up and others can benefit because I have seen your results from others being good. I wouldn't have gone and pushed myself in if it was something I could tolerate and I definitely don't see it being "the same as it was before". But that's ok, I have a choice and my choice will be to seek other advice with someone who at least looks like they care about me.

I gave him one star because there is no zero.

Dr Stoody can be nice at one appointment and more than rude in the next appointment. He screamed at me for asking a question.
