Dr. Jan Kriska, MD

Almost at a loss for words, I cannot recall encountering a doctor who was so determined to do the least amount of work possible. It is unfortunate that in an area such as rural North Carolina, patients don't have access to many doctors, so many of them haven't had the experience with a caring doctor to be able to determine that Kriska is exceptionally poor at his job. I wish I had spoken to others around the area before I went to him, but I've had positive experiences with every doctor I've seen in the past, so I wasn't aware that individuals like Kriska even existed. Every single person I found who had gone to see him at one point in time told me did not listen once during multiple visits, regularly forgot almost everything told to him (yet curiously doesn't seem to feel he needs to write things down), and seemed thoroughly uninterested in them as human beings. 2 of them told me he appeared to have disdain for them and used facetious language to belittle and undermine their efforts… to seek healing. In my experience he was accusatory, claiming I lied to him when in fact he simply cannot (probably just refuses to) remember anything anyone tells to him. And of course when I reminded him that we discussed the issue he claimed I lied about not once but multiple times, he did not so much as apologize. In what way is belittling patients in this manner and in effect lying again to them a competent strategy for a doctor? Despite how little he knows about a patient or what minuscule amount of information he has of them, he insists he is right and, both in my case and at least one other person I talked to, radically alters the plan of action and method of care. I had been seeing doctors for a relatively common condition for over 19 years when I fell victim to Kriska. The condition had been treated well during all of those 19 years, I had been prescribed the same medication by literally every single doctor I had seen, and it was working extremely well. I didn't even have to take it daily. When I told this to Kriska, he ignored everything about my condition and successful treatment of it, and refused to accept any information that was on my medical records. Please avoid this person at all costs. It is not worth risking your health. Look at his consistently poor grades on all the sites online. They are likely the only consistency in the man's entire practice. I have been miserable since first seeing him, fortunately, I'm already seeing a new doctor, who immediately placed me back on the medication that worked. Be cautious. Kriska attained his degree in Slovakia and the US should have tighter restrictions on its vetting process as to prevent further infiltration by unprepared and undertrained foreigners. Kriska clearly doesn't care about his patients' health, has a tenuous grasp on the English language and should have his license revoked in the US. Do not risk your health, he'll destroy it while repeatedly lying to your face.

Exceptionally honest and frank regarding health and wellness and what it takes to get to wellness. One of the most knowledgeable practitioners I have had the pleasure to be treated by. Truly a care giver that cares about me.

Wonderful doctor with a wonderful bedside manners that other doctors within the practice should learn.

Terrific doctor that actually still has compassion. Only problem is there is only one of him---he is very popular with his patients, limiting his time with each one, otherwise, I'd have gave him a four star ranking on "Spending enough time with me."
