Dr. Janet Dey, MD

Dr Dey was referred to me last week by a friend. My daughter had the flu with bronchitis that turned into pneumonia. I call Dr Dey and we were in her office within an hour! Dr Dey examined my daughter and had all the prescription meds that she needed in her office with the exception on Tamiflu! So convenient..she is the only Dr. that we have been to since my children's pediatrician that keeps prescription meds onsite. Excellent Dr. and very empathetic.

Dr. Dey has spent more time listening to me and helping me during each visit than any doctor I have had since I was a teenager in a small town. She understands that I know how I feel, and helps me very effectively.

I've only seen Dr. Dey once, though I have a follow-up visit with her on Friday. I will continue to see her, and if my high opinion and experience with her changes, then I will update my review certainly.With that said, I found Dr. Dey to have great bedside manner. She was personable, and I felt very comfortable with her quickly. She answered all my questions and also returned a voicemail I left her regarding the meds she prescribed. She seemed genuinely concerned about my condition (which was fairly serious), and has scheduled a 4-day follow-up appointment with me in an effort to monitor my situation closely. She was a little more expensive than if I had gone to a PCP, because I have insurance and my office visit co-pay is usually $25. I paid $65 this time and the balance was billed to my insurance company. However, she is set up as a walk-in, minor emergency clinic and not your standard PCP doctor's office, and I didn't have to wait - same day appointment and my wait in her office… was minimal. With that said, I have never been to any doctor, ER or walk-in clinic that hasn't been extremely expensive (or hard to get in with and then a excruciatingly long wait), so she isn't any pricier than any other doc. In fact, without insurance a few years ago, I remember paying a minimum of $125 to a walk-in clinic just for the basic exam and around that same price or more for a basic office visit to an OBGYN. The office itself is pretty utilitarian and a little rundown aesthetically-speaking, which was a little surprising, but I wasn't looking for glitz. I needed immediate health care, and I got it here.

Dr. Dey has helped me from day one when I walked in her office. She is very professional & personable. Dr. dey has always made time for me and whatever problem/problems I have had at the time. I would recommend her to anyone needing a new doctor, or like me, new in town.

I have now seen Dr. Dey 4 times and there will not be a 5th. I live in Midtown and she is close by so I thought I would give her a try. Besides her bedside manner which is cold, uncaring, and uncompassionate: she has recently prescribed Bactrum DS to treat a sinus infection. After having severe adverse reactions to this med i decided to do a bit of research on the internet. WOW. It is common knowledge that Bactrum causes severe headaches, itching, rashes, hallucinations while sleeping, etc. I experienced all of these symptoms and have been completely miserable. I don't ever get headaches and have no problem with my sleep. I am discontinuing the med and hoping things return to normal quite soon. I do blame myself, as i did not trust my initial negative reaction to her and continued to see her. Please take heed and avoid seeing her. There are many other compassionate, caring, concerned, and knowledgeable doctors in the area. She is located at off Piedmont rd. Lastly, she ran blood tests… and never communicate with me regarding the results. Ah yes, one last thing...She seems to only want to make money...hence the unusually high cost to see her.
