Dr. Jason Michael Hollander, MD

Let me start off by saying that I am a doctors nightmare patient. I tend to get on the Internet as Dr. Google and by the time I get to the doctor, I have myself dying in two days. Someone like Dr. Hollander, who is calm, understanding, and knowledgeable, is one of the few doctors who has the patience To listen to me and advise me appropriately. It is amazing to me how efficient and friendly his staff is. Dr. Hollander has an excellent bedside manner, and truly takes the time to go over things with you and explain things. If you are a nervous patient like me, Dr. Hollander is the type of person you need. When he goes over things with you, he explains them, but she worries, and gives youA plan for what comes next. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs an endocrinologist.

Dr. Hollander is an extraordinary physician who truly cares about the well-being of his patients. I would recommend him to all age groups. He is simply the best!!

I had a thyroid biopsy done in 2000 and it was extremely painful. When I was told I now needed biopsies done on both sides I was in a panic. I was undecided if I was going to have it done. The doctor and the office staff saw my panic and proceeded to reassure me. Sandy who works at the front desk took the time to tell me about a doctor in Old Bridge that does great biopsies, she took the time to text him with all my information. Because she set my mind somewhat at ease I made the appointment for the biopsies and she was so right. If the office and the doctor did not take the time to talk to me and reassure me I would not have gone for the biopsies. Happily everything turned out alright, but I will have to have check ups yearly and possible biopsies. I will not hesitate and although we will be moving 5 hours away from the office I will continue to use Dr. Hollander and his staff.

Dr Hollander is among the top doctors in his field......He is one of the best I have ever consulted---he is thorough, answers any and all questions eloquently, very patient and understanding, does not make you feel rushed. and a pleasure to talk to about your problems---I trust him with my life

My wife has diabetes and has been a patient of Dr. Hollander's for many years. Sadly, now she also has Alzheimers and so I manage her health care. I could not be more pleased with the care she has received from Dr. Hollander, especially over the last few years. She had a medical issue about a year ago that required significant changes in her diabetes care and close monitoring of her condition. Dr. Hollander provided careful, thorough and compassionate care. He always made himself available during office hours and afterwards to answer my questions and provide advice and make whatever adjustments may have been necessary. Because of how Dr. Hollander managed the problem, it was resolved quickly. Dr. Hollander is clearly a very knowledgeable and experienced endocrinologist who analyzes issues quickly and knows how to best resolve them. He also has a great "bedside manner" with his patients. I appreciate everything that he has done for my wife.

I'm so glad that I came across Dr. Hollander for an endocrinologist. He took the time to hear what I had to say, listened to my concerns and walked through multiple options. I felt he was straight forward and to the point, doctor. He is available via email and replies to the emails are usually quick. If you want someone to hold your hand and not work out a solution for you, but just hear you complain, I don't think he's the doctor for you. In my experience, I feel he is a doctor that actually wants you to get where you need to be with your health, BUT YOU have to put in the effort as well.

I have been a long standing patient with Dr. Hollander who manages my medication and condition. He is always on point. He calls me as I am long distance most of the year and we have phone call visits regularly. I can always depend on him to call me back and give excellent insight into my condition.

After being a diabetic for 14 years, and struggling with a little weight gain, Dr. Hollander chose to point out exactly how many pounds I had gained (I was a girl who just went through puberty... it was appropriate to gain some weight) and told me that I "should probably lose that weight immediately". Not only did I leave the doctors office crying, but I spoke with my nutritionist mother who ensured that I was doing all I could to stay healthy. His office also messed up my insulin prescription and I almost ran out because of them. If you must go to this office, see another doctor.

I was extremely fortunate to find Dr. Hollander after a random online search for endocrinologists in my area a little over 5 years ago. I had just given birth to my first child and wanted to verify that my gestational diabetes had cleared. I was young, I was thin, and my OB thought I was crazy to even bother getting checked. He seemed certain that my diabetes had cleared. Unlike a colleague of mine whose endocrinologist who simply used a fasting blood sugar to diagnose Type II Diabetes, Dr. Hollander prescribed a 3 hour glucose tolerance test. If he had simply checked my fasting blood sugar - which was normal - we would have missed that I did in fact have Type II Diabetes. Iâ??ve seen Dr. Hollander regularly since then. I actually did gain some weight at one point and he gave me a very stern, no nonsense reality check about how extra weight would affect my prognosis. It was a bit rattling. But as my husband very aptly noted, with Type II Diabetes you do NOT want a doctor who… â??lulls you into your graveâ?? by downplaying the severity of this chronic disease that leads to all sorts of horrible complications if left uncontrolled. I am very fortunate that I have found a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients and it shows.

I had been struggling with thyroid problems for months and not getting any real relief from my primary care doctor. (now FORMER) I did have to wait a month to see Dr. Hollander, but since I wasn't dying or having cancer, i'd say thats ok. He was honest, informative, and answered every question I had about my condition. I was having an insurance problem at the time (gap between plans) and he didn't push any expensive tests or labs knowing I was a cash patient. He did order bloodwork, but I expected that. He called right away when the results came in, and he changed my medicines that day. I feel SO MUCH BETTER. Everyone has noticed a positive change in me, and I cannot thank Dr. Hollander enough. The one thing I will say - if you are looking for a doctor who isn't going to give you a hard time about poor self care, and just gives you medicine, hes not for you. You have to do more than show up and take a pill. If you're suffering from a health condition that could be helped by eating… better and being active, and you're still not doing it, well what do you expect a doctor to do for you?!?!? I would recommend Dr. Hollander to anyone looking for an endocrinologist who wants to be a part of the treatment, not just a a spectator.
