Dr. Jason Savage

Dr Savage did two back surgeries for me in recent months. The doc is a good surgeon with great skills. However, he runs a conveyer belt operation - too many patients. He does not provide the overall patient care I expect from a doc. He likes to examine x-rays of his work but gives little time to the overall health and experience of the patient. Very pleasant person but somewhat quick and superficial in his approach. Does not give enough time to explain to patients before or after surgery. Does not listen well. I would check alternatives first. Also, you wait at least an extra 75 minutes on all office visits as he is proud of double booking.

Nov. 2016 I had to have surgery on some vertebras, should have taken 35/45 minutes. Well that didn't happen, my surgery turned into 2 1/2 hours bc once Dr. Savage got into my back to do the work he found that my left disc was attached to my spinal cord!!! Well that explained 5 months of excruciating pain. During the removal of the disc from the spine my disc was torn {Discs are very fragile & thin}. When the disc tore the fluid in it of course leaked into my system, the most concerning part being it goes to the brain. Once it all was repaired it was probably close to 4 hours under anesthetic possibly more. When I finally came to I had been out of surgery at least 2-3 hours & the 1st person standing there was Dr. Savage, he had stayed with me through it all. Once I was able to comprehend what had happened I asked my husband what his thoughts were..... he couldn't have enough great things to say about him & my surgery. A 6 hour day turned into 16 hours & Dr. Savage was still there with… us. Well here I am again 1 1/2 years later & I'm once again looking at surgery in the same place & possibly the same exact issues.... my neurologist has suggested a surgeon closer to home so I will go hear what he has to say & then I'm going back to see Dr. Savage. At this point it's a sure bet I'll be having Dr. Savage doing the surgery again. He's by far one of the best in Ohio, he already knows my previous history & has already done one surgery on me so lest I say I DO completely trust his opinion & abilities.

I woke up and have continued to have more pain, on a daily basis, every since my neck surgery. 10 months later and I can't hold my head up as normal. He has no suggestions other than maybe it takes longer to heal.

Jason is a highly skilled miracle worker. After suffering awful pain from a pinched nerve in my neck for 7 months, I found Jason Savage. He performed surgery on my neck & I've been pain free since I opened my eyes after surgery. Dr Savage is also a really confident, personable guy.

Dr. Savage and his PA Alex were truly wonderful. I traveled from out of state to see a doctor at Cleveland Clinic. These two were probably the nicest, most knowledgeable, and professional providers I have ever had contact with. I did not feel rushed, and they took the time to discuss all of my issues and my treatment options. I am a nurse and I cant believe a surgeon could be so nice! I would recommend him to anyone!

It's been weeks, still have not received the report

Dr. Savage is an excellent orthopedic doctor!!! More specifically, he took the time to listen to me thoroughly, as I described the different aspects of my ailment, before making any assessments about my diagnosis. Many doctors neglect to do that, these days. They are often in such a hurry to get their patients through the fast-spinning revolving door they end up offering a misdiagnosis of the problem. But Dr. Savage doesn't do that. This is why I would highly recommend Dr. Savage to anyone seeking orthopedic medical treatment.
