I had oral cancer and surgery in 2003. I was going for monthly checkups, then every 6 months and then every year. My last appointment was 2019 because covid came in 2020 and 2021 things were still scary so I did not go for appointments. In 2022 my husband's cancer came back as stage for and he tried chemo again but eventually went into hospice care at home. I was mainly his caregiver because hospice is only 1 and 1/2 hours a day. Needless to say, I did not go in 2022 to Dr. Boyle and my husband passed away in Oct 2022. This year I called several times to make an appointment with Dr. Boyle and they will not make an appointment for me. They keep saying because I hadn't been for so long, they have to ask Dr Boyle and they will call me back. It is now March, and they still have not given me an appointment. I guess Dr. Boyle doesn't really care that much about patients. So, I would have given him a 5 star but due to the inability to get an appointment with him I give him 1 star. If this is… the office staff not doing their job, I give them a 0.

I came very prepared for the appointment with questions and research. He was dismissive and became very rude and condescending when I tried to ask him questions. He tried to leave the room as quickly as possible without addressing my questions.

Completely regret coming to Dr. Boyle for my thyroid cancer. He performed a partial thyroidectomy, then told me I didnt need any thyroid medicines (bc I was "young"). Meanwhile I developed hypothyroidism (which he never told me about despite performing blood tests), allowed me to gain 80 lbs bc of no thyroid medication that he kept saying I didnt need, then when I had a 6 month ultrasound he said everything looked fine and that I should come in for a follow up NEXT YEAR. I ended up going to an endocrinologist a month later and she told me he was wrong. I should have been on thyroid meds the entire time bc I developed Hashimoto's disease AND HE LIED ABOUT MY ULTRASOUND RESULTS! I still had cancer and now it spread to my lymph nodes! GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR WHO ACTUALLY CARES.

took excellent care of Robert Thompson from Penna. I cant praise him enough. There should be more DOCTORS like him. I would send anybody to him that needed a exceptional surgeon. THANK YOU. May god keep you safe. Sloan should be grateful to have such a SURGEON.

Poor bedside manners.... Right after a 3 hour surgery he flew to Zurich for 3 weeks vacation.....Saw him once again a month after surgery and never again..... 15 months later the cancer came back.....

Dr. Boyle is very arrogant. He has no patience and sympathy. He made it very clear that he thought that I was wasting his time. He really made me feel like an idiot for being there.

Dr Boyle is highly skilled, has tremendous experience,is very direct and to the point. When I have an appointment it is generally on time, and I am in and out quickly. I was referred to him by my NJ dentist and thru his contact, a surgeon at Johns Hopkins as "The" surgeon I need to see. I am glad I had him. He was assisted by Dr Romans, also a fine surgeon on his own now. On the day of surgery he was definitely "on" his game, like you'd expect a Pro athlete would be for a big game. My surgery was successful and so far so good, 5 years later. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs head,neck or oral surgery. No shortcuts, no sugar coating. All business and a Pro.

Dr. Boyle is a leading head and neck cancer surgeon who can perform operations that very few can do. But beyond that, he is extremely knowledgeable, smart, kind and compassionate. When I first consider going to Dr. Boyle, I was concerned by comments about him being arrogant and rude. I was stunned to personally see how wrong and unfair those comments were. If you have a cancer of the neck, mouth, throat...go to Dr Boyle for your best chance of survival and return to a normal life. This is my opinion based on treatment that I received.
