Dr. Jay Dee Fawver, MD

A patient can only see Dr. Fawver for 2 times only, then sent on to a nurse practitioner. Dr. Fawver has lots of knowledge, but does not share with patient. He is more of a celebrity on television, local PBS, which is more informative than in patient appointment with him. He does not seem to really care about his patients during his conversation with him and does not explain during appointments....he seems rushed. Very robot like in communication. Disappointed for sure for all the hype about him!

If you want treated for any mental health emergency or care I strongly urge you to seek help elsewhere. You are simply a number. Even if they are incompetent in treating you, they will not refer you to someone who can. You are seen by Nurse Practitioners not the Doctor after the first appointment. If you want someone to actually help, see Dr. Ahmad at the Bowen Center.

Regardless of the advertising, this practice operates on a medical (deficit) model and not a strengths model. The questions are mostly symptom-based, which only provide part of the picture. This practice appears to have no racial diversity, which is shameful in the 2nd largest city in Indiana. It also needs medical social workers to integrate a patient's environment with their medical issues. This perspective from the social work profession is called "person-in-environment." Dr. Fawver and his team of nurses are not trained in this perspective, but could greatly benefit from it. Patients looking for diverse practitioners who can understand and integrate their culture with treatment would probably feel more comfortable going to another practice.

He really listens & iwants to help people

Was a patient of Dr Faucet for about a year. He threw so many different meds at me did not allow time to taper off in between them. I endured some very bad side effects and could not do my job or drive for a while. He will not allow you to question his diagnosis or have input into your own care. Ignored the fact that my former husband was abusive and violent to me. My former husband was also a patient of Fawver and he committed suicide earlier this year. This guy should be in jail!!

This doctors care was much better before he became a TV star and seemed to forget about patient care and loyalty. The big pharma, money and trying to be the superstar of the psychiatric world has left me less than enchanted. It's taken away his 'human' side. The wait is very long to see one of his NP. The assist will call you back in a timely matter only leaving you to sit for 30 minutes plus waiting for the nurse practitioner to show up. My time is every bit as valuable as theirs. The good doctor likes to think of himself as cutting edge. It is truly something he prides himself on. In doing so his entire practice has suffered. I've been a patient for years but have started looking for a replacement. I hope to find a doctor who cares more about his patients time and even more, their well being.

I have seen PKVW Mind and Body fro several years. I am always grateful for my nurse practitioner. The staff are knowledgeable about new treatment options and how to best help my personal needs. I see Dr Fawver annually, he is kind and accurate in his assessments and suggestions for my care. All the other visits I see my nurse practitioner.

After much frustration and misdiagnosis from other doctors, we were so pleased with amount of time and concern the staff took with us. We have felt that the medical staff at Dr. Fawver's really care about our well -being and making sure that the medications prescribed are effective.

That quack put me on 4 different medications for a minor case.
