Dr. Jay Adam Kutnick, MD

I will be filing a complaint to DORA regaridng Jay Kutnik. He treated me 6 years ago and I experienced egregious harm under his care. He ignored me and my family when making decisions and caused further trauma. My current psychiatrist confirmed that several other patients reported similar negative experiences under his care. It is scary to know that he works in emergency situations where patients have no choice but to see him. I consider myself to be a reasonable, moderate person, and have never written a negative review about anyone, but I strongly advise you see anyone else if you have the choice.

Appallingly unprofessional and uncaring, rushed and noncooperative. Dr. Jay Kutnick knowingly sent a mentally ill, deranged and dangerous man home with his elderly mother - providing the family with ABSOLUTELY NO information about a care plan - refusing to even return the calls of frightened and concerned family members prior to releasing him from a 72 hour mental health hold. Please protect our community from Dr. Kutnick’s “care”.

Dr. Kutnick refuses to return calls or speak with family even though the patient has signed a release to do so, releases at risk patients, refuses to to listen to families' concerns or provide options, hangs up on family members trying to get answers. Horrible doctor.

Dr Kutnick was always honest with me. He responded to phone calls promptly. I felt he cared about his patients and whether they felt safe in his care. I think the number of bad review he has gotten is largely due to the fact that Dr Kutnick only deals with people that are their as a last resort and are doing poorly. Which, let’s face it, ECT is largely a last resort kind of treatment. I would recommend him for ECT.

Dr. Kutnick is not a bad doctor, but he needs more relevant, real world ?? experience. He comes on too strong when you want to take break from ECT. He tells you that you will get depressed again and become physically ill. He needs to be more patient centered and less financially motivated. He loves to threaten you with hospitalization if you do not have ECT. I had it twice a week for a large part of 2019, both inpatient and outpatient. He made a fair amount of money off of me and Tricare. I am grateful to be better, but it is time to move forward. You cannot drive when you do ECT twice a week. Not a problem for him, but it is an issue for the disabled patients. Best wishes for the future. Really talk to and listen to your patients. They are your customers. Thank you for listening. Dr. Brandt with Porter would be a great mentor and role model.

This arrogant man treats everyone with disdain.

Dr. Kutnick shows a degree of inexperience, probably partly due to age. His bedside manner is poor, and he did not relate well to me. I would not recommend his services.

I was hospitalized and assigned this ignorant buffoon. He misdiagnosed me, over medicated me, and put me down regarding my professional abilities. This man should be no where near the mental health profession. The only doctoring he is capable of is issueing liscenses for medical marijuana in a store front. I plan on suing him.

This doctor was very difficult to talk to. He dismissed my comments and twisted my words in order to make them fit his predetermined opinion. When we finished, he went through his checklist telling me that I fit into this category despite the fact that I had given him answers contrary to his diagnosis. I received no help from him and left very frustrated. And I still got the bill! (Others later found his diagnosis quite off base.)
