Dr. Jay Prakash Mahajan, DO

My experience with Dr. Jay Mahajan’s office has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Despite numerous attempts to get in touch, the phone lines are never answered, and the voicemail prompts always end with a promise to call back that never materializes. I called Celestina’s office daily from Monday through Thursday. Each call went straight to voicemail, with a message promising a callback within 72 hours. Not once did I receive a callback, despite my repeated attempts. To this day, I am still waiting for a response. I then tried to contact Katie, the back office manager. Her voicemail was always full, indicating she was likely not answering her calls either. The only time I managed to speak to someone, Amanda B., was when my provider called on a three-way call. While they answered that call, subsequent attempts by my provider to reach them also failed. Amanda B. took an astonishing six days to look at a referral from Celestina Aguilar’s office, and that only happened… because I called after discovering it was not in. Amanda B. was dismissive and unconcerned about the pain I endure daily, from morning until night. She assured me on 05/30/2024 that she would handle the issue. When I called again on 06/03/2024, there was no answer. I then involved my insurance provider, who managed to get Amanda B. on another three-way call. He instructed her to send the referral over labeled “STAT,” promising it would be processed within 72 hours. Amanda B. claimed she was waiting on a Qutenza specialist at Centerwell pharmacy. However, when I contacted Centerwell myself, I discovered my insurance information was listed incorrectly and they had no other details about me. Further discussions with Amanda B. led nowhere. When I finally spoke with her manager, Irma, she contradicted much of what Amanda B. had told me and promptly resolved the issue. Irma was baffled as to why it took six days for the referral to be addressed, noting it only happened because my insurance provider intervened. On June 7th, my insurance emailed me to inform me that my request was denied because the prescription was for 84 days instead of 90. I called Centerwell and spoke to a pharmacist who said they would send it to their specialist department to correct the dosage in my prescription. In summary, if my insurance had not already authorized so many visits to your office, I would not be returning. I found your office to be very unprofessional, and I will never refer this office to anyone.

Dr. Jay is the most compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, i’ve waited four years to feel cared for!! You, sir are the best doctor I’ve been to. I hope to be a patient for a long time to come. Thank you so much Dr. Jay Mohajan!

Dr. Mahajan gives the most caring of attention. When you need him to explain he does! He knows his business. I have a lot of confidence in his knowledge and ability. He listens to you!

It's been about six months since my "follow-up" appointment and I'm still fuming! The initial visit with the actual doctor brought me a false sense of hope. The doctor was quite personable and seemed to have a clear understanding of what I was experiencing. He ordered a number of tests. I explained to him quite clearly that I was not able to afford any tests not covered by my insurance. He told me not to worry, just go ahead with the covered tests. Ironically, the only tests not fully covered were those done by his office! I obtained a copy of the MRIs and read them before my "follow-up" visit with an alleged physician's assistant. The way she treated me left me feeling demeaned, insulted and furious! At first I tried to make excuses for her. I assumed that she was accustomed to seeing only patients suffering with dementia. She was genuinely surprised at the results of my tests, showing that I actually have a functioning brain. She proceeded to READ to me from the MRIs and… was totally incapable of answering any questions. The one time she feigned an effort to obtain an answer, she left the room to "ask the doctor". If that was what she really did, I have to question his education and abilities. The answer she returned with was ridiculous, incomplete and insulting. When I asked about the diagnosis and proposed course of treatment, the response was "If you want to see the doctor, you can call and make an appointment to see him in six months"!

Doctor has great presentation and ZERO follow-thru, will claim you will receive excellent care & then you will never see it. Untrained, deceitful staff who doesn't know the basics of authorizing tests so you end up spending all of your time doing their job, phone calls that never get returned, test results you will never get explained to you until you go to a DIFFERENT doctor. Even when you have a side effect from a procedure Dr. M did, don't expect a call!!!

Can’t even get a test done staff lazy and not call back

I'm a retired doctor. I've known and been treated by many doctors, and have never experienced anyone as kind, caring, and knowledgeable as Dr.Mahajan! He is very professional, and an excellent diagnostician.

Dr. Mahajan, What happened to Mike Richbow. He still has not waken up. I cant sleep at night. I am all alone. We had to give his 90 lb, Italian Cane Corso away to a trainer here in Vegas. He missed Mike so so much that he became a bully to me and my youngest daughter. He went in for a nervse test with you and the direction on the sheet said to discontinue taking his Xarelto for 3 days. Did that cause his blood clot to the brain. Im so confess and along. His high school sweetheart of 49 years. I Pray so hard everyday and cry. Lenora Richbow
