Dr. Jay Richard Trabin

I am a L&D nurse who worked closely by Dr. Travin’s side and trusted him with my own rather complicated health care. He is still my favorite physician, a caring and competent practitioner, and perhaps the most intelligent person I know.

After waiting approximately 3 hours to see Dr. Trabin, and a costly out of pocket expense, I am very disappointed with Dr. Trabin. I had to call numerous times to get results. After the treatment he prescribed did not work, I have been calling the office almost every day and leaving a message with his assistant for almost 3 weeks and still have not received a call back. Very unprofessional for a doctor. Knows how to charge for the visit but doesn’t follow up. Warning to avoid him and avoid the frustration.

This is my second visit to Dr Trabin. I am older, and have been to lots of doctors in my life. Dr Trabin explained everything to me, and also checked that medications he was prescribing did not have any issues with my other, and many, medications. If there were 6 stars, I would give six.

Stumbled across Dr. J Traiban at Clivland Clinique Weston.... as I had on going symptoms that other doctors could not attend to. Dr. J Traiban is old school the best professional I went to. I highly recommend him to any woman that has on going OBGYN symptoms. He knows his staff and he will find best solution possible for your treatment.

Here is a physician who truly takes the time to find out what's going on with each patient. The Cleveland Clinic misdiagnosed me and I tried to resolve an issue for TWO YEARS. HE takes on look, takes a sample of skin and bingo. Problem solved. He's experienced. Both gyns at CC -- one dismissed me as "just old," were wrong and it created problems for two years. This guy rocks.

He prescribes meds before having lab results, so you might be taking something for a bacterial infection that you don't even have. Prescribes compound meds that insurance doesn't cover and contain a mix of ingredients...if you have an allergy, you are never quite sure of what it is that you may be allergic to as there is a 'mix' of meds in the compounds. After awhile, you realize that you are throwing money out the window (a lot). He prides himself on aggressive treatment, but causes further damage to your body with haphazard treatments. The damage is long term and consequences of following his advice are dangerous. Be smarter than I was and avoid this.

I was very disappointed by Dr. Trabin. I had high hopes as I have had very little success with other doctors even knowing about vulvodynia. I will say that Dr. Trabin seems very knowledgeable about the disorders and does a good deal of actually testing what could be the problem. I was happy during the first appointment because he seemed to actually know disorders and information that I did not. HOWEVER, he started acting extremely inappropriately when I asked questions. Instead, explaining a condition he ridiculed me for knowing buzz words and looking on the internet. (Of course I'm going to do my own research, I'm in pain and most doctors don't know about these kinds of conditions at all!) He proceeded to get rather aggressive and scolding when I had done nothing but try to learn more about conditions that may be affecting me. Every time I asked a question he would get visibly annoyed. The diagnosis that he arrived at makes no sense for me, and he wouldn't try considering… other possibilities or even work out what would cause me to have that condition. I am now out about 900 dollars because he does not take ANY insurance and have a diagnosis that I don't trust and a treatment that I likewise do not trust as I know using a steroid cream can make many conditions worse, but he never explained anything about the risk/benefits to me and by the end I was too afraid to ask. If you have vulvodynia, and a lot of money and he's the closest specialist then I'd give him a try and hope for the best. However, if you just need to see a gyno stay away! I wouldn't put up with his egotistical demeanor unless you really need to. Also on a side note wait time was ridiculous, was there for HOURS every time! Staff was also very unprofessional, and the Dr. Trabin was very unprofessional to them and talked very disrespectfully toward his staff while I was there.

After seeing 7 other doctors, Dr. Trabin was the right one for me. I had struggled with vulvodynia with 2.5 years and he not only helped me to find where to go with my treatment (which had nearly been maxed out), but he was very open about listening to the research I have done, and treating me as an intelligent, well-read patient. He is very confident (rightly so) and I have full faith in him. I would recommend him to anyone.

I had great hopes for this doctor, but he ended up making my problem worse and the wiped his hands clean of me. Would not even return my desparate phone calls. Do not recommend in any way. Very disappointed.
