Dr. Jayendra C Choksi, MD

Dr. Choksi was able to diagnose me within a few moments of talking to him. I have been in therapy my whole life and no one ever got it right. Just three months after I began treatment my life starting improving for the better and seven years later I have a life that I only dreamt I could have. Dr. Choksi saved my life!

I've been going to Dr Choksi for awhile, and I really like him. Yes, he is pretty much a "meds only" Doctor, but that's what a psychiatrist is. I see him every few months and get new refills. I do not take any narcotics. I don't want to sit around and talk with a doctor, if I wanted to sit and talk I would see a therapist. I don't think he is a "drug dealer", as some have said. They do only take cash or check; I don't know anywhere that doesn't take credit cards!!! I do always have a very long wait (sometimes up to an hour). I don't think he comes in until 10, but they will schedule appts from 930 on. No one ever apologizes for the wait time, which is irritating. The receptionist is awful. She is so slow and always irritated; she basically seems like a miserable old lady. If it wasn't such a huge ordeal to switch doctors I probably would just so I don't have to deal with her and wait so long to see the doctor.

He is very good, been going to him for quite a few years. Is easy to talk to, and takes very good care of the problem. Sometimes, he is a little "rushed" but that happens everywhere.

Dr. Choksi is a caring, skilled Psychiatrist. I went to several before I found one that understood the disease of addiction and how to work within its limitations. The previous reviewers who said he spent 15 minutes with them and that he was a meds only doctor - that's what a psychiatrist is. If you want to talk or receive counseling go to a psychologist.

Dr. Choksi has been "treating" my mom for the past several years. By "treating" I mean spending just enough time with her every few weeks to write a prescription for the narcotic that she is now addicted to. Apparently all of his wonderful education in Psychiatry did not teach him how to tell when someone has an addiction problem. We should send him the bill for the detox and rehab she is now going through. He should have his license taken away.

I like Dr. Choski. He knows what he is talking about and doesn't pretend that he does like other Psychiatrist. He has honor and you cannot find that easily. I would recommend him to anyone.

This guy is horrible. Rude, Doesn't listen or care what the patient has to say. He will get up mid sentence open the door and show you out. Worst Bedside manner I have ever had.
