Dr. Jean Alfred Thomas, MD

Absolute horrible experience which caused me to lose my first child. So called Dr. Jean Thomas completely over-looked the fact that I was a diabetic. It seemed as if he had a "system" for ALL pregnant women that walked through the door. No one pregnant woman is individualized, he should've told me I needed a specialized doctor for my diabetes but failed to do so emphasizing ONLY on the importance of drinking water. I honestly don’t even remember him reviewing my new client paperwork I filled out with, in which I put in bold letters DIABETIC. Throughout my first appointment, I was wondering why he never asked me about my diabetes condition. With this being my first pregnancy, he let me go home thinking everything was okay but me and my unborn child was in grave danger because I was at high-risk due to diabetes. Dr. Thomas is why I had a miscarriage. If he’d told me I needed special care, I would’ve had a successful pregnancy. Instead, he accepted my insurance money and told me to… drink water and sent me home without referring me to a high-risk OBGYN. At my first ultrasound (6 weeks) the “specialist” told me everything looked fine but I knew something was off, she seemed puzzled and uncertain when I asked questions and did not send us home with pictures. Dr. Thomas was late on notifying me of anything as it took him over 2 weeks to tell me something was wrong even after I’d called and left several messages inquiring about the ultrasound and fetus in general. After reaching out and contacting him numerous times, he finally returned my call just to tell me I was pregnant with twins and that they could not find a heart beat. He also stated the “specialist” was out of place to tell me everything looked fine. If this was the case, why did it take him so long to contact me? Why hadn’t he referred me to a high-risk OBGYN? Why had he let me slip through the cracks without receiving proper care. Shortly after he contacted me, I had a very physically and emotionally painful miscarriage. After I had my miscarriage, he then referred me to a specialist but at this point it was pointless. If I could leave 0 stars I most certainly would. After 5 years, this nightmare still haunts me and will continue to haunt me for the rest of my life. I just don’t understand why Dr. Jean Thomas was so careless to overlook the obvious and be completely negligent and incompetent in his duty as a doctor. I have since been pregnant and have received the best care from the high-risk OBGYN specialist at Mercy. They were fantastic and I now have a beautiful and healthy 2-year old son

Dr. Thomas helped with my Endometriosis and for that I will always be grateful; however, he is only good and patient with you as long as you don’t gain weight, if you become overweight you will not receive the same treatment and this is a well known fact about him as a physician, which is very sad. I gained weight when my mother passed bcus I am an emotional eater; as a result, he misdiagnosed me and told me it was bcus I was overweight. Ladies beware!

Dr. Thomas Is The Absolute Best.! I Was Nervous Having My First Child And I'm Now On My Second With Confidence. He Answers All Questions In Detail And Makes Sure You Understand Completely

I've been seeing Dr. Thomas for over 30 years. He delivered all 3 of my children. He is the most caring, understanding professional doctor I've ever had. He always makes me feel like I'm his own daughter. He is the best!

This is a very great doctor, well experienced and gets right to the point! have 4 children of witch 2 Dr Thomas has delivered by sea section...I wish i would have known he with my first two.

Dr Thomas is an excellent physician with a great bedside manner. He is very easy to talk to and has a lovely sence of humor. I will be a returning patient if he is in my provider network
