Dr. Jeffrey Scott Bodwin, MD

The last time I saw Dr. Bodwin, he was driving his old Plymouth Belvidere. I have read all these reviews and believe me, I understand them. Lots of sniveling sissies complaining about a life they have made for themselves. My expectation is that the complaining is by no pay clients....it always is.

Do not entrust your loved one to this doctor

Even though Dr. Bodwin is a wonderful tester, he did not speak with me ONCE during the few visits that I saw him. He spoke to his tape recorder! I am not kidding and would not recommend him due to his bedside manner-or lack thereof.

All physicians and staff at St Jude have respect and high regard for him.

Dr. Bodwin is overdue for retirement. He does not listen and statements must be repeated at least three times before there is any comprehension. No bedside manner whatsoever. Will not be returning.

I took my 12 yr old son in to ask how much he might grow at the request of his hockey coach. Ran test after test and x- ray after x-ray spanning over 2-3 months and visit after visit and his exact words to me " how tall is mom and how tall is dad he should be about that" That is not acceptable after almost $1400 in bills. I knew that. I thought I was going to get a more accurate professional answer. Then he tells me I need to see a podiatrist ???? no he says a pediatrician if I want a more accurate answer. Maybe he should of told me that at the initial exam instead of dragging me along...

I started seeing Dr. Bodwin for my thyroid when I was 19. I know that the bulk of his patients were much older than I was based on who I encountered in the waiting rooms at his office during the three years that he was my endocrinologist. Iâ??m guessing that my young age gave him reason to think it was okay to talk down to me. He would ask me each visit if I was â??riding a rainbow,â?? â??singing from the hills,â?? or â??living the dream.â?? At first I thought it was just a quirk of his to ease tension with his patients or attempt to be humorous. I do however have a very difficult time believing that he would say such patronizing phrases to an elderly patient with a more serious case than mine was. During our visits he would also often ask me the same question multiple times which leads me to believe that he either wasnâ??t paying attention to what I said in his office, or was incredibly forgetful. He also would often talk into a recorder while I was still in his office using only… medical terminology so that I was completely left out of the conversation that was occurring regarding my own health! After three years of a merry-go-round of blood work, ultrasounds, different doses of medication and needless follow ups, I decided to find a new physician. Since that time, my new endocrinologist informed me that the medication Dr. Bodwin prescribed me (which I was on for over two years) was not only toxic, but had severely deteriorated my immune system. My new doctor also informed me that my thyroid condition had been completely misdiagnosed. I would never suggest Dr. Bodwin to anyone, it is a waste of time, money and you are putting your health at risk.

I went to Dr. Bodwin a few years ago after seeing multiple specialists to find out why I was feeling the way that I was. There were so many symptoms coming from every direction, so I found myself being tossed from one doctor to the next. It seemed no one would take any responsibility in it because it wasnt an easy answer. In the mean time, I was losing my hair and felt as if I was going senile in my 30's! Dr. Bodwin figured out all of my issues. He sent me for tests that resulted in a diagnosis for seizures and sent me to a neurologist to continue that care. He also realized that my hair was falling out because of my thyroid. Other doctors looked at my thyroid initial tests and said it was in normal range. When Dr. Bodwin looked at it, he saw that it may have been in normal range, which would have been average for an average group, but it wasnt normal for ME. Since being treated and while I continue treatment, my hair is growing back and my fear of being young and bald is gone. He does… have a VERY dry sense of humor and you have to be on your feet for his appt., but you should have confidence that he takes the time to figure it out. He has researched my symptoms even after I have left the office.

Dr. Bodwin is a very thorough doctor and he knows his stuff. He takes the time he needs and will answer questions you may have. He IS busy...because he's good, so he won't sit around and chit chat. He is very direct and with a dry sense of humor. He is not warm and fuzzy, but he DOES care. He's there to help you live a long, healthly life, not be your friend. I have been seeing him for nearly 10 years and have had many health issues, and he is always thorough and follows up immediately if there is an issue with a test or if I need to change my meds. My only gripe is having to wait, but when I was in the hospital after the birth of my daughter and he was treating me for gestational diabetes, he was there every morning to check on me (for a week). I think that's why he is always running behind. If you want a good, thorough doctor, you should try him. If you need to be in and out, he's not your guy.
