do not go to this Doctor, I had to have my surgery redone his hardware had to be taken out and redone and there was nothing I could do about it. please go somewhere else

I had spinal stenosis for which Dr. Gerdes did a full laminectomy that gave access to 3 vertebrae in order to create space for nerves in my spinal column that were being impinged. Over a year later, I still have the same tingling and heating in my lower legs and feet, usually later in the day and evening but happily never got any worse. My back strength is about the same and still have some of the same bending pain when bending back. To the credit of the surgeon and staff, I did not have any bleeding or other complications. The follow-up visit was not with Dr. Gerdes as I had hoped, but with his assistant instead. I had hoped to get details of the surgery with some assurance from those that I would not likely be having this condition again any time soon.

screws were not in place had problems right off the bat had to have second surgery by another doctor much scarring, pain and damage that cannot be corrected

Replaced three neck discs with plastic and fused 4 neck vertebrea. Fantastic outcome. I strongly recommend Dr Gerdes.

Dr. Gerdes was the surgeon for my mother after a car accident. He performed well and my mother walked despite the fracture of her back.

Dr. Gerdes would be my top pick if i ever needed surgery again !! had a level 2 fusion in my neck and Dr Gerdes and his staff were great !!

Very knowledgable in his field. Explains everything he feels you need. I feel he is very cautious and only does surgery if needed.
