Dr. Jeffrey Lee Hartzell, MD

Dr. Hartzell is my ortho hero ... :) I have recommended him to everyone who has inquired of my double knee replacement surgeries and even some who haven't inquired but I think that they might benefit from his skills. His bedside manner is always pleasant and professional. He is caring, compassionate and does listen . ONLY A POSITIVE , LIFECHANGING EXPERIENCE WITH DR. HARTZELL... Debra Balzer

What a joke! Spent 90 minutes in the waiting room 40 minutes waiting for him he’s looked at me for exactly 3 minutes. Did a meniscus repair and 4 months later I have to have a knee replacement. Don’t waste your valuable time on this guy.

Dr. Hartzell has a terrible bed side manner. Avoid this doctor and practice. His staff is RUDE. I've never experienced anything like it. Staff member hung up the phone on me. Negative and dismissive tone.

I was highly satisfied until the moment I walked in the hallway. I was greeted by his staff and himself engagaing in anything but professional behavior. He may be a talented surgeon but his bedside manner was less than desirable. He is arrogant and unprofessional. I find it sad we live in a metropolitan area of Fort Wayne but travel to Indianapolis for decent Ortho care.

Very 1st visit with Dr Hartzell and he is the nicest Ortho doc ever...very professional, very kind. Great trust in his care...I highly recommend Dr Hartzell.

He is very full of himself. We felt like we were listening to a car salesman. We ended up seeing another physician in South Bend who was much more down to earth.

He was arrogant and dismissive. We saw another orthopedic doctor at FWO and he explained that our daughter never needed to have her good knee operated on to perform her ACL surgery. Wish we had known that before surgery was done. Very frustrating.

We cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hartzell. From the very first appointment, his level of care, professionalism and skill far surpassed what we could have hoped for. He made sure we understood the surgery our son was about to have (ACL reconstruction). His staff was friendly and professional as well. On the day of surgery, he met with us before and after the procedure, and though he had a full schedule, he never seemed rushed and made sure we had the answers we needed to care for our son at home. He gave my husband his mobile number and was very kind when we called with both pre- and post-op questions...we never felt like we were interrupting his family time (even though I am certain we were!). He texted and called us on his own time - even on a national holiday - to follow up and make sure everything was o.k. Now that we are two months post-op, he called and left a voicemail to say that he'd met with our son (who is back at college and doing great)...he again gave a… detailed update and urged us to call if we had any questions. Doctors like this are few and far between - he is not only very skilled, but he CARES. Love, love, love this guy. Highly recommend!

I would recommend Dr. Hartzell to anyone. He is very knowledgeable. I was diagnosed accurately and surgery went better then expected. Dr. Hartzell listens.

I agree that he is an awesome doctor and has a wonderful bedside manner. I have recommended him to many of my friends in Warsaw, Indiana. I have seen Dr. Hartzell at serveral of his offices and everyone has been so kind and helpful.
