botched lithotripsy...ended up in hospital with acute UTI and acute sepsis...no explanation or apology....steer clear of kocurek

I was diagnosed with ED. Dr. K prescribed Viagra....and made me return for a checkup every two months, or no refill. Last visit, out of the blue, he demanded I submit to a colon exam... I declined, and this guy actually got mad at me, said I was just using him as a drug store. This was in the 90s. Thankfully, its easy to get ED meds now online... dont waste your $ on this jerk.

My husband was seeing dr.kocurek for almost 3yrs,which was a waste of time, he did nothing for his health issue s..running these test biopsy etc...with no options let alone rescults...finaly after research found a great neurologist, and he cldnt believe tht my husband had been seeing one prior,my husband prostate was over 130 a normal prostate is about 40..also he missed a spot and didn't mention anything about the stones ...long story short..found wonderful dr sandeep mistry...things r looking up now.

Fantastic bedside manner. Made sure I understood treatment plan and source of problem. Got me back to a healthy outcome and good quality of life. Recommend win full confidence.

I had surgery, which Dr. Kocurek recommended and was not successful then I received bills I had to pay out of pocket for when I went in to be checked out after the surgery and the catheter removed. It was never disclosed to me that any emergency visits as a result of the surgery or the check out appointment would not be included in the cost of the surgery. . When I tried numerous times to address this with his office and business office I was dismissed and turned over to collection. I would not recommend this practice.

I found Dr. Kocurek and his staff to be very knowledgeable and professional. This goes from the receptionist to the laboratory staff and to the doctor himself. His diagnosis has always been accurate. I am glad my primary physician recommended him to me and I warmly recommend him to my friends.

Dr. Kocurek is very professional and knowledgeable. I went home and had a question after an appointment, left a message for a nurse, and Dr. Kocurek called me back. He is patient and explains things to me. I also like his nurses. They are sympathetic and patient.

After using this website to find a recommended urologist in Austin, TX, I was very disappointed by my consultation with Dr. Kocurek. I recently moved to the United States and have a serious case of kidney stones requiring surgery, so I made an appointment to get an opinion for treatment from this doctor. Not only was the wait very long, the doctor rushed the consultation and did not take time to lay out his opinion and possible treatments in a professional manner. He hurriedly handled my x-rays in a cramped hallway and explained the issues and possible treatments standing there, without privacy, before the rest of the office staff. When asked to write down the names of different procedures, he went into the examining room and wrote it down on a paper napkin! I have never been treated like this before by a doctor and am very disappointed. Furthermore, while the doctor diagnosed my problem similarly to previous experts, the treatments proscribed were much more invasive and would require… potentially three separate procedures, compared to the one, less invasive and more technically advanced procedure that had been recommended to me in my country.
