Dr. Jeffrey Ethan Mait, MD

Unbelievable surgeon and human. Never met a doctor so caring. Answered every question I had (and I had a lot!), never pushed surgery on me, set me up with a fanastic PT, and even called me the day after my surgery to check in on me personally. My shoulder is feeling great just 3 weeks out and I’m so thankful to Dr. Mait and his team. He was recommended to me by a friend and I will continue to recommend him now!

I was examined by Dr. Jeffrey Mait last 09/05/2024 for shoulder pain that started a week ago and went home disappointed after he declined my request for an MRI scan on my right shoulder after conducting a range of motion shoulder physical test. He tried to explain that it was not serious enough to require an MRI scan. As part of their SOP, I had declined an x-ray scan due to high risk in my particular case so he was solely relying on the range of motion test to determine that it was not serious enough and without knowing if there was any tears or micro fractures that an MRI would be able to detect. As an alternative, I asked him for any other treatment but he only recommended a pain -reducing injection. I also asked him about straps or applying support to my shoulder as I advised him that had a two day golf tournament a day after my visit with him and he cleared me to play but he also discouraged me from using it because he thinks that it may make matters worse. Based on my own… research and my prior use of kinesiology tape on my right arm, I applied the kinesiology tape and it was very helpful for my shoulder pain. As a result, my experience with this doctor was not positive at all and furthermore his medical advice was seriously misleading as he lacked any knowledge of kinesiology tape treatment (classified as a class 1 medical device) or failed to recommend another doctor or specialist who knows about this matter. What was appaling was that based on his bio profile (see attached pic) he "...brings years of expereince as a team physician for professional, semi-professional and collegiate athletes to his role as a sports medicine specialist" and also indicated that he is an "avid athlete, he understands what it takes to obtain and reach your goal of playing at any level" so I was beyond shocked and disappointed at his ignorance, lack of empathy and/or lack of knowledge of using kinesiology tape. Obviously, based on my aforementioned sub-par experience bordering on misleading medical advice, I strongly recommend NOT TO RELY ON THIS DOCTOR and also to avoid wasting your time and hard-earned money.

Amazing shoulder surgeon. Never forced surgery on me - tried less invasive things first and let me come to the conclusion of surgery on my own. Great bedside manner as well. Calm, patient, and really put me at ease by answering all of my questions. Also called the day before and after surgery, which I appreciated. I'm feeling great and would definitely use him again. Highly recommend.

Dr Mait has always treated me with the outmost respect, listening and answering all my question. He has taken extra time to make sure I understand all medical procesures and plan of treatment. An extra special touch was a personal phone call I received the day before and after my surgery. His knoledge with a caring professional touch is exceptional.

My son hurt his knee playing basketball and Dr. Mait treated him successfully. My husband and I are very happy with the care he received and loved Dr. Mait's overall attitude and approach. He was patient, kind and thorough. A true gem.

Absolutely one of the best doctors I've ever seen. I went to see Dr. Mait for a shoulder issue that he has since fixed. He never rushed me, made an effort to answer all of my questions, and I felt like he truly cared about my wellbeing. Fantastic doc and also such a nice person.

I went to see Dr. Mait after hurting my shoulder playing tennis. Not only did he repair my shoulder but he was the nicest, most caring doctor I think I've ever seen. The world needs more of him!

This is the first time I've reviewed a doctor, but I just had to review Dr. Mait. He saved my knee and was the most patient and kind doctor I've ever been to. Can't recommend him enough!

There was no wait time. He came in listened to my concerns, answered all my questions. He did not rushed me. He made me feel comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I cannot recommend him enough!

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Mait. He made me feel comfortable and put me at ease from my my initial appointment, and I'm continuously impressed by his patience and knowledge. My recovery from surgery has been relatively easy, and Dr. Mait was never too busy to answer my questions. I couldn't recommend Dr. Mait more enthusiastically.
